So CO, what's the deal? You send out an email regarding the Beach Asset pack, detailing what's going to happen and the disaster it has been. Yet you remove the thread and now the link within the email is invalid?

Is jerking your customers around in private now a thing? Like, facing the public on the forums obviously hasn't worked to build back any faith in y'all... so you think an email blast trying to convince us that the Beach Asset pack is getting rolled into the base game, and it's price getting refunded, will appease us?

For anyone curious, check the email you use to sign into your Paradox account. Worst case, I've saved screenshots of the email.

I think it's time for CO/Paradox and somehow, the rest of the community, to sit and have a "Come to Jesus" moment, because this is getting ridiculous.
What maillist have you signed into? I'd love the same!! :D:D:D

Don't hold your breath guys.

Although we meanwhile have learned that any mistake is possible on CO's side, until proven otherwise I will think of this as a hoax.
Too unlikely that not only CO comes out with that announcement too early, before anything "official" (= confirmed by Paradox) has been said, but a rather unofficial looking email as result of following a forum?

Very, very unlikely.

We have seen so far only 1 "screenshot"and there is no problem in faking such a screenshot

I can imagine someone typing in a message too early. But not without having all information that should go into it already ready, and there are essential information missing in that "post". So in my eyes it is more than unlikely someone from Paradox or CO did indeed type such a message on a forum here and then deleted it.

Funny thing is....Beach Properties may be one of the worst DLCs of all time, but its also probably one of the best-selling DLCs of all time as well. Because...so many of us mugs preordred it with the Ultimate Edition. One of the reasons they felt they could rush it and deliver so much poor content is that they had nothing to sell. They already had your money so there was no jeopardy attached to the content and whilst it mat have been a PR risk to release something lacklustre, it wasn't a financial risk.

If CS2 hasn't taught you that preordering games is a bad idea then nothing will.

I can confirm it also. I got the email because I was also "following" that forum. I clicked on the link also, but the page was gone by the time I got there.... I didn't make a big deal about it, because I assumed CO changed their mind...

Care to share a Screenshot?

I'd be cautious, the way that language is used in that email doesn't sit right with me. Don't get ahead of yourself until you see an official statement.

the game is still broken will full of bugs and the bug section is still deserted like the main forum

I haven't paid attention to the forums, is this not normal? I noticed they seem to barely respond to bug reports and never respond to suggestions (including CS1 suggestions). Obviously they can't reply to everyone, but you would think some effort at communication here would be present.

What I don't understand is why nobody from CO or Paradox has replied confirming or denying the email's authenticity. It's been quite a few hours since this thread was made, so they had plenty time to do that.
Considering how moderators are always around, I'd expected some kind of reply, an official announcement or even closing the thread.
Either CO decided to completely leave this forum, or... I have no idea.

There are multiple sources with the deleted FAQ: this forum and the discord.

It could be that the FAQ is indeed authentic, but that does not mean that the moderators know about it. Someone accidentally pushed the "publish" button.

Because it is a critical topic with legal consequences (it could also be a security incident), a moderator might not interfere with this topic unless CO's management or PDX says something about it. It is the weekend, and people with authority may also not be reachable.

What would you do if you were a moderator? You don't know if it is real or not, but it could be real because multiple people got the mail. Would you delete this post or not?
If you delete it and it is authentic, people will post it elsewhere. You cannot stop the information anyway, and it is not bad information; it is something good. I am not a moderator in this forum, but I would not delete it until I reach someone with authority. Waiting until Monday does not harm. If it is true, the person with authority may tell the moderators to ignore the post and don't comment on it until Monday.

If it is not true or/and a security incident... this can be clarified on Monday.
If it is true, we may see the matching Dev blog on Monday anyway, and people will probably be very happy.

Because if its fake, the CEO of at least Colossal Order (unsure about Paradox), does not work weekends, let alone the staff below them. Work/life balance and vacations takes precedence (as demonstrated thus far) than attending to managing PR disasters and brand reputation issues.

But then again, the engagement from an co_avanya (community manager) and co_martsu (CEO) has been almost non existant all year. You can search the names yourself in the "Search the forums" box up top, and check for yourself.

TLDR? A picture is worth a thousand words, so here;

I don't have that link, since I clicked it from the email, but you should read the thread on Reddit, there are others that also saw it:
Potential Beach Properties DLC Refund Inbound

Also check Cities Skylines Discord....
That link is blank. Try:
Not to the post, a link to the FAQ forum
The Reddit thread above contains its own link to not two but three supposed screenshots of the message:
The third "screenshot" says that the recipient received this notification email because they were subscribed to the ""Official Information & Announcements" at Paradox Interactive Forums with email notification of new threads or messages." IOW, the "Official Information & Announcements" subforum in here, which is possible since it has a Follow option. However, as people in the Reddit thread have pointed out, the language in the screenshots is inconsistent in tone and contains several formatting and spelling errors, leading them to believe it is a hoax. It could have been posted by a throwaway account and stayed up just long enough to trigger notification emails before being deleted by the mods.

I could imagine perhaps that they give us a free asset pack, to all who own the Beach DLC right now. But why should they make it in such complicated matter? With all the problems arising from keys bought through key sellers, with the buyers of the Ultimate Edition?

Let me just have a dream. Let us dream with the next patch we get the possibility to plop probs (that are already ingame just not usable) plus the palms for all and the Beach DLC gets one or two nice parks, suitable for near the beach, or something like that. I know it is just a dream and will not become true, but it is a nice one for now.

I don't care if it's true or a scam, and I don't care it's the weekend; something like this comes out and you can't spare 5 minutes to write a disclaimer on this thread? This is ridiculous.
