Yes, I have used the validator its a great asset for all sorts of issues. You have motivated me to drag the timeline back a few more years for the next release. :)

Ohh and dont forget to check if you could use some of my characters i sent you the further you move back in time (i fear they they were 0 AUC until the end of the Alexander though, but perhaps you find some ancestors at least for your chars. ;-)

Most of them are a bit early (or late) but I have used one - Nikesepolis, wife of Philip II and mother of Thessalonike. - Cheers for her.

Now if you could just develop the entire dynasty of Jason of Pharae...

Its almost ready now with bug fixes, more timeline and minor map adjustment. At the latest, next weekend.
 
Just wanted to say a word of encouragement to continue your work your're the only one keeping EU Rome alive anyore. I just started a game and managed to survive as the Antigonids against the rest of the successor states with minimal losses of territory and troops.
Great mod!

Thanks Roman. The Antigonids are my favorite, its amazing that the survived and eventually went on to rule Macedon. Hopefully I can take it right back to 319BC over the next few months. With the latest version, now only 21 years to go.
 
The latest version has been hyperlinked in the Download thread. It features bug fixes and an expanded (9 years backwards) time frame.

Started campaign as Rome from the beginning and noticed I couldn’t trade with any other nation. Was this done intentionally?

I’m using your latest version.
 
Try trading with a nation you are not at war with. Try the Picentines, Lucani or Brutti as you have the best relations with these nations.

Modding the game in no way can stop a nation trading. If you cant trade at all, either you just do not have good enough relations, you have a corrupted instal of EUR or corrupted instal of the Mod.
 
I just uninstalled and reinstalled everything. Still couldn’t trade with anyone. When I tried I got the pop-up stating “there is to much opposition in the Senate” even with the Pics which are allies.

What I did was installed rome gold 2.1, 2.2, 2.32c then your latest version 2.1.

Started from the first date available plus in my previous attempt all nations at war with me concluded truces with other nations they were at war with which resulted in a truce with me as well.

This all sounds a bit confusing.

1) “there is to much opposition in the Senate” - this is a normal operation of the game. In this case your decision of trading partner did not have the support of the senate

2) "all nations at war with me concluded truces " - this seems to indicate that you can use diplomacy

Does the game work ok without my Mod?
 
I found a few others had the same problem in the bug reports section. The problem has to do with the D2D 2.32 patch having the 2.2 exe for the romegame.exe. So as a result it has corrupted the game.

So to answer your question I have the problem with the vanilla 2.32 game. It’s showing senate as 0/99 and all the diplomatic options are red x’ed out. The issue with the truce was I didn’t have any option in the whole deal. The Pic’s made peace with Umbria and I was all of the sudden in a white truce as well.

Like I said no problem on your end and am look very much forward to fixing my problem so I can play your awesome mod. I am a big fan of yours.

Sorry to hear about your patching problems. At least you know what is going on. I bought off Gamersgate and have never had an issue.

I dont think I can post email or post the exe file to you. Firstly because its probably a breach of copyright and secondly the file is probably to big to send.

Have you tried Amazon, its selling very cheaply there and you could patch up using the game launcher after that?
 
Hmm little confused now, as when i get ingame it says "2.01b" but i have a earliest starting date of 472, while your screenies show the 3rd samnite war at 456. What did i do wrong?

A 456 start would also make a character of mine alive, "Europa" daughter of Phillip II and Kleopatra ho are both in my chars too, but as you already have a wife for Phillip you are entering the dangerous terrain of Phillips several wifes i described in his file. Have fun solving it. ;-) Its rather easy when you nly have a few of them just let one die and get another in, but with their kids and finally Olympias blocking a lot of dates it gets impossible without getting the engine to accept polygamie i guess.

I dont know why your earliest start date would be 472, Epigoni 2+ should be 465 or 456. I suggest your reinstall. Dowload 2.01a and instal, then download patch 2.01b and instlal it over 2.01a.

Yes, unfortunately the game accepts only one spouse at a time. Sometimes you just dont have all of the historical facts and have to make a few judgement calls as to who's who and when they were married. Pyrrhus and Demetrius were also great playboys of the ancient world.
