Giant Death Robots.
That is all.
No it's not. That may bee good enough for Civilization but not for EU4. What EU4 needs is Giant Death Zombie Pirate Steampunk Robots.

Know what EUIV needs?
Space Marines.
If I become Holy Roman Emperor, I should have the ability to recruit special unique units with elite training and equipment. Actually, more than that, I should be able to carefully pick these soldiers from a specially selected pool of individuals who are the product of selective breeding and so on, to maximise strength, endurance, intelligence, and loyalty. And if I'm in good with the Pope, they should be equipped with holy weapons to fight my enemies (who would be, obviously, heretics and demons). I'm thinking we could call them "marines", though that seems to be lacking something, I admit. They could be organized into companies with names like "Children of the Emperor" and "Templars" and "Fists of the Empire" or something like that. And they could get bonuses to go on crusade. Oh, and unlimited morale, because duh, they're super soldiers fighting for the Emperor.
Stop poking me!This game could really use unit quotes. I think it would be much more immersive if your units gave an acknowledgement every time you move or select them. Imagine how awesome would it be if your armies shouted something like "For France!" when you moved them into enemy territory! This should be pretty easy as there is no need to have a wide variety, just a few good ones that players won't mind hearing over and over through the centuries.
