I think they shouldn't work on EU4 before EU3 is properly finished. I mean, how can they stop working on a game with such hideous graphics? I'm disappointed that 4 expansion packs have been released, and the graphics are still very bad. Compare Modern Warfare 3: no expansion packs, but the graphics are great. Why can't Paradox make games like this? I'd be totally fine if EU4 was just EU3 with proper graphics.

I can't tell if you are serious or not...

Did you read the OP, to the end?

Yes. This poster might not have, the graphics are bad compared to EU4 screens, and to someone who hasn't read very much it could look like EU4 is just EU3 with better graphics.

Of course I am serious. I play games to get immersed in them. When I play a battle, I want to be able to zoom in and watch the battle live. I know this might not be technically possible, but cutscreens for every battle would be great (full 3D of course). When I make a decision, I want a cutscreen showing what went on in the royal halls (lifelike graphics of course). Who really wants to stare at a boring map all the time? I like to zoom in and just enjoy the graphics of mountainsides etc. I also get annoyed at the water. It doesn't look like water at all! It looks like something done in paint. They should divert sources to make water look like water. Why fix naval battles if they don't even swim in water but in some blueish substance.

Paradox could also learn from the game Skyrim: They made a small but very rewarding map. I think EU4 should be limited to some area like Western Europe, which would be properly modelled and rendered. Expansion packs could add the Balkans, Eastern Europe, Asia, etc.

In fact, I don't get why we need to take care of all that boring stuff of managing a country. Why can't we switch it around: let the AI handle the country, and let us players handle all the good juicy battles. Better still; let us be the soldiers on the battlefield. The replayability would be endless as every nation would have its own perks, skills, etc. Since Paradox abandoned the path of full historical accuracy in EU2, we could also add fighters like mages, although that might be going a bit too far for a game that tries to essentially model a realistic situation.

We also need trolls, orcs, orges, golems and all the good stuff!

I do love me so TW games, but I have to admit this is classic.

You know what also really bothers me? Technology. Everybody should have the same technology except for the Aztec's who should have laser carabines as to decently balance the colonization problem.

And Tornadoli is perfectly right. If there is one thing the Call of Duty people got right it is that a new game should just be the old one. But more expensive.

Ingame advertising is also something that should be looked at. Nothing says Genoa like zooming in on your map until you can see the big Coca Cola logo's on the sails of the ships. I mean, thát is after all what mercentalism was all about, wasn't it?

Yes. It makes sound business sense: everyone liked the old game, so if you hope to attract more people with a new sequel it should be more or less the same as the old one, with a few changes in order to justify a higher price. Why take the risk of changing the winning formula?

Also, EUIV needs at least a console tie-in, if not the full game. People who score points on the Xbox 360 arcade spin-off should get bonus gold coins (not ducats, that's a made-up word) and manpower to use in the main game.

Yes. And Paradox should also borrow from the modern shooter scene for names, I mean, Europa Universalis is utterly horrible, how can anyone understand such drivel? It should be called

MANSHOOTFIELD OF DUTY: WARFIGHTER THE RECKONING 2013 PREMIUM ELITE EDITION

just to ensure everyone who is thinking of buying it that the game is completely awesome.

Make sure it's a 3DS what's the point of this 3D map paradox is so proud of if I can't actually play it in 3D

This.

If I can't see the 3D map in real 3D, I don't want it.

Think Avatar, but in Europe.

Actually, better still, why not just release it as an iPhone app? Yes, it will cost 1 dollar, but think of the huge number of customers Paradox will get! Also, I don't care if it's simplified as long as I can play it on the run, or in Starbucks where everyone must see the Apple logo.

I kindly have to remind you [OP] that you forgot Ultra high Shadow graphics as all modern games uses advanced post FXXX shadow emulators that chew half the processing power.
No game is enjoyable without shadowsettings, as this is where the majority of the content and gameplay lies....

- can you please devote half the studio to make great shadows ;)

Edit: yes no moar PC only Console with skyrim interface as well!!

Edit2: We need mages and playable Elfs with lots of nice partcle effects when I cast my fireball

I hope I can play EUIV through Facebook and that it has a live tweet option so I can update my Twitter account.

It would also be great if EUIV could help me with Farmville, because no one ever waters my plants...
