Well, I won't give them fu**all if I only have to do this to cancle out a bug, obviously ^^

I just did what you suggested (changed rivals to please my to-be ally) and I got the +20 for enemy of enemy INSTANTLY, only THEIR relation to US is ticking up slowly

Oh yeah, of course, yeah it's theirs that ticks up, yours just appears.

Okay, so in that case it might be better to vassalize Ireland after the war and hope that they won't be too big to swallow then?

Oh, yeah. Is this Ironman? If not, open the console, and turn on yesman. That will force the AI to say yes to any request. Send your re-alliance requests, then disable yesman again.

I always use the Console to undo bugs like that.

Actually, this probably doesn't work - Alliances would be one case where you can't just yesman. Although they'll give you the Alliance, they'll just break it again immediately or at end of month because the relations will still be too low.

You could use add_opinion to add +100 relations, but you'd first have to tag switch to the other nation to modify your opinion of them. And then that'd be a static +100 which would never go away, so it'd be cheating long-term and not just overriding the bug.

The only real way to fix this particular bug is to save and edit the save file to remove the Dishonoured Alliance modifier :(

I'm experiencing that bug where natives continue to attack a colony after it is fully developed. Is there a known solution to this bug?

By some luck I found myself in a union with Castile while playing France and the date is around 1475. My question is whether or not is it possible in this situation to have "Iberian Wedding" event?

I'm fairly certain the answer is no due to Iberian wedding requiring Castille to be independent. I haven't double checked the events/flavorSPA file to be sure though so I could possibly be wrong.

Hello.

Did a quick search for the EUIV forum and this thread before asking Q.

Question: Is there any kind of combat log one can view after/during a battle? It would help me improve my play if I could look at the results of each round of combat and the specific impact of modifiers and dice rolls.

My forum search suggests there isn't anything like this. I am happy to use the console for this if needs be.

Please see this post where I explain what's available by analysing a non-Ironman save.

What happens if I concede defeat to a junior partner in a war?

I'm Byzantines and fighting the Mamluks, and I'm able to concede defeat to kazan. Does the war end or will kazan just peace out?

Separate peace, the war will only end when you deal with the war leader. You'll lose prestige for conceding defeat (-10 IIRC)

For a junior member, you're only negotiating with that member. When the negotiation is successful, that member will leave the war, but the rest of the war will continue. It should check on the peace negotiation screen: if it says they're negotiating just for themselves, then the rest of the war will continue.

I've got a question of my own: In my current Poland game, i've joined the HRE and am about to revoke the privilegia. The only country not yet willing to sign up for it is Austria, who is also the big price ( the inheritance fired, and they annexed quite a bit in the HRE). Sofar i've got them up to +200 relations, but to no avail. They're still threatened by me, and don't want to sign the reform.

Is there any other way to get them to sign? Does increasing relations help even more, or will that be pointless? Will it require me to launch another war at them (i just finished one, forcing them to release several princes to get the IA i needed), or can it be done peacefully? I really don't want to revoke without them in it.

How can I move my capital? What requirements have to be met to move it?

I am playing as Ryukyu and would like to move my capital from Okinawa to Australia. The first time I tried, the mouseover tooltip said I need 200 ADM points. Got there and it was still grayed out and the tooltip now said that my capital needs to be isolated. I'm on an island surrounded by the Japan, Ming, and Korea (although I have colonies in Taiwan and the Philippines). What can be more isolated that that?
