Did any paradox dev mention anything at all about expanding the new missions at all? I seem to run out of missions by 1600 at the latest unless one has a date specified.
I haven't been in this forum as much lately since I have too much anime and other games to play so I don't know what to look for around here for this information and searching "missions" gives too many posts

They are adding more nation specific trees in the next update similar to the British nation trees that require Rule Britannia (Indian missions for Dharma owners, Russian ones for Third Rome owners). Haven't heard anything about extending the generic trees though.

Question, if I'm a Tributary of Ming and attack someone allied to Ming, will Ming join in as a defender?

Yes, assuming they would normally join the war. The gain from being a tributary nation is they won't interfere when you attack other tributaries.

I assumed as much, but wanted to be sure. Thanks.

Any advice on which idea to choose between Humanist and Religious in this situation?
Religious unity didn't yet give me massive problems, but as i go deeper into China, i'll end up with too many Confucian provinces.
Currently i am Tengri with Vajrayana as my second. I imagined that i would flip Vajrayana to Confucian as my syncretic faith, but my conquest of Ming is taking more time than i anticipated, so i'm kinda on the middle ground. Unity is around 55% with Vajrayana.

PS i rarely played Vajrayana, is it worth adopting it as the official faith? In that case i'd take Religious i suppose.

Personally I would go Humanist and with no sync faith so I can go full cav. Besides that go Humanist, with that all your unity problems will be gone no matter which sync faith you pick.

Wait a minute, is there really no message for when the enemy starts sieging one of your provinces, or am I missing something?

iirc standard it's turned off. You can turn it on if you look in the message settings. imo it's best to turn it off. AI sometimes find it funny to start a siege and move away the next day in a cycle

As a Horde go Humanist, way way better choice than Religious. They are bad at converting even with Religious and you will have zillion of rebels if you don't take Humanist. Conversion provoke rebels making it even worse. You can pick Religious later if you really want it but i'd advice against it - there are more useful admin groups.

Don't remember how cooldowns work with syncretic religions but it would make sense to drop Vajrayana for Confucian at some point. edit: once you fill humanism, as Phoenix says.. no need to use syncretic at all.

Tengri is really nice religion so i'd stick to it. Good idea would be to switch to Manchu culture.. make that dominant culture by stating/unstating land. And you can build op Banners units from state menu.

Searched for it twice, but couldn't find it. o_O This is weird.
Thanks though, I'll keep looking. I know there is one in CKII, there must be one here too.

edit: heh, actually, I've found it, the problem is that it's turned on, but I still get no messages

It depends on what you mean by "siege". Every since the fort update way back when, there's not a message option for when an enemy just walks into an unfortified provinces and starts "sieging" it. But you can have
Combat > When the enemy lays siege to one of our fortresses.
Combat > When an unfortified province is occupied.
Combat > When you lose an unfortified province.

So if there's a fort, you can be notified of the start of the siege. If there's no fort, you can only get a message after the enemy's siege is over.

This. Also note there is no way that I can find to be notified that a subject's (or ally in war) province has come under attack or been captured unless it is due to a rebellion happening whether it has a fort or not.

Does artillery combat ability also influence ship artillery?

Oh, damn, thank you for being so precise! :)

Another question though, people:
What happens to my tributaries if I reform my Nomad government into Despotic Monarchy?
The wiki says the tributary system is "available to nations in the Eastern religion group, as well as to steppe hordes and the Emperor of China".
I'm Tengri, with Hindu (which does not belong in the Eastern group) as my syncretic religion.

Their Tributary status should continue and you still have them - Nations outside those requirements can get tributaries by annexing Eastern nations - but I don't know if you can get more tributaries unless you pick up the EoC

Is there a news site with anouncements like "next update is coming"? As I know iron man games can only be carried on to the next update (is that true?). So I would like to check that before I start an iron man game, just to make sure I can finish that run before the update hits. thx

Is this according to the rules??

I was able to go to Constantinople and siege it. My 2nd army was waiting in Burgas for the case of Ottoman Army attacking. They were able to go to Constantinople, too.

Now Constantinople has fallen and all of the sudden my army can't go there anymore and my sieging army probably would be lost!
Is this intended or is it a bug?
Would it be different, if I save, quit and reload?

I mean i occupy Burgas and Constantinople and should be able to move through them, shouldn't I?

It's working as designed - it's a poor design.

There's been no announced release date for the next patch. Also, you can't continue an ironman game in a new patch. But, once the new patch drops, the current version (1.25.1) will be leaded in Steam as a beta version, which will allow you to roll back to the current version (through the betas tab in Steam) -- just don't open your ironman game before rolling back to the current version. See this thread for instructions: https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/foru...patch-level-of-europa-universalis-iv.1009270/ (note that you can't do this ahead of time -- you have to let the new patch install and then roll back to version 1.25.1).
