Etnicity of Lao Cai should be Vietnamese, not Thai. Religion could be eigther buddhist or confucian depending on the power balance of the region.
OK. I switched it to Vietnamese

There is no Lao in the game at present. How important of a culture is it? Is it closer to Thai or Vietnamese. In general I prefer to not divide up cultures. But if it is pretty distinct and not close to thai or vietnamese, I'd be willing to create a new culture for it.

You edited out the forced war I scripted between Dai Viet and Champa. The Vietnamese are supposed to conquer Champa and eradicate all traces of it and if the AI is peaceful it is not going to do this without a forced war.
It needs to be an AI only event. What is the time that it happens. I need to make it a time period of like 10-20 years. I have lots of these types of events in EP.

If Dai Viet does not conquer Champa then the 300 years of North-South civil war are not going to be modelled properly. Also it makes very little sense that the vietnamese would suddenly be in the Mekong without the vietnamese territories acutally bordering the mekong.
IC.

BTW, I'm looking at the setup in SE Asia and I'm seeing that Dai Viet does not exist in 1419. Instead China has RR in Vietnamese provinces. Do you think this is accurate? Would it be better to simply have Dai Viet at game start instead?

Good :)

Lao is close to Thai but also distinct enough to merit its own culture. Historically the surrounding states all battled for dominance over Laos but none of them actually achieved it.

So while a Lao culture is not essential it does however hold its own historical merit. In game terms, a Lao culture will also prevent a large chunck of Thai-cultered provinces, encouraging ahistoric empire-building in the region.

Champa was destroyed in 1471

In circumstances like this I usually prefer to keep cultures grouped together.

This is very hard to prevent in SE Asia and it's due to there being so many small states there.

I'll make an AI DOW event or two for this.

Also I checked on line and it seems that Dai Viet being at war with China at game start would be most accurate.

Okay, I've now managed to unpack EP 1.9.1 on a friend's PC and have transferred the files via USB stick to my Mac. EU2 starts up fine with EP as the scenario folder, but when I select the scenario (with any nation), it CTDs before its finished loading (but it looks like it *almost* loads). Think I had a similar problem with EP 1.8.2 on my Mac initially, but managed to get it to work after some fiddling with the files, so will try a few more things and report back again...

Paul

Hi, could you tell me what kind of fiddling exactly? I'd love to play EP on Mac...

Hmmm... am still having problems getting the new EP working on my Mac, must try harder :(
Is it something other than than the Genoa event file? I can't remember whether I fixed it or not. It's been awhile.

When I try to download EP 1.9.1, it says the setup file is corrupted?
Help?
A lot of people have this problem. I've been told that if you try to DL it over and over that it usually goes all the way eventually.

Why are the regions of Bujak, Mindanao, Mindoro and Samar all honey?

Because honey and wax came from there.

Having trouble with installing...exe crashes, and the rar cant even find the file and load up. :(

There was no readme in the RAR package I downloaded? A readme including install instruction would be nice. I had to extract the RAR contents to the respective ai/events/scenarios etc folders AND make a 'EP' directory of the RAR contents in the main eu2 folder to get the mod to run. Is this the correct install method?!

Thanks,

Dowload the 1.9.1 exe file and run it directing it to your EUII directory; I noticed when you do this it tries to create a New Folder inside the directory automatically, just delete the "New Folder" from the line of the directory it asks you to install it into. Then download the 1.9.2 zip file and just copy paste the files over the existing ones in the EP directory. That should work.

Necromancing....

I was hoping that there had been a new install or something. That this thread would miraculously leap back to life.

If it does. I have a delicate problem. some months ago I managed to force sweden up to a sizeable player (all scandinavian holdings, and ever single coastal prov in the baltic exept Petrograd, roughly on third of germany /Brandenburg has about 8 provs), a pair of caribbean islands, and some colonies in southern africa and that island next to mauritius). The worlds biggest army, third largest navy and in alliance withthe british.

BB though the rough and I feel that if I make a move that bb wars gonna start. But I still wish a larger empire. there is no place left in america to colonize soeveryhign there has to be wrestled out from either spain, england, france. Africa has some scattered colonies in it but mostly portuguese and dutch. India is divided between the english, french and portuguese. and the dutch have a huge VOC empire.

so all in all I'm facing the challenges that a great sweden from that time would face. nice one. thing is, there are 120 years left to play. and I wish to do something rational and good. only thing I can think of is sitting tight and avoiding the BB. or conquering indichina....

Sorry, just discovered the mod and it is amazing; besides it is still alive, isn't it?
