It’s a shame there are so many nice units going to dead tags when major nations like Hungary and Denmark are still using vanillas

Fortunately, nearly all the eastern tech units can use the same model for multiple eras. So a lot could be done with one stroke :)

Completely agree. I love all these unit models, but I don't really think we "need" a T1 for almost every Irish one province minor, or all the four models for releasables like Normandy, Wales or Northumbria. I think there should be broader groups.

well here comes the problem, i dont know it feel like was it really necessary to all the British &Irish minor nations to have there own unique unit models for tier 2-4 ? like most likely you will never/(most likely not) going seem them or players and the Ai will most likely going form England or/and Great Britain, unless
i dont know i wish paradox implement something like if you hire mercenaries from let say northumbeland providence they unit models for the mercenaries will use the Northumbralnd unit model so the the unit models dont go to waste, if paradox really wants the new unit models that they gave to cornwall, desmond , Brittany, wales, etc.. to not go to waste they should make the mercenaries of the specific provindence/culture like if hire mercs from cornwall they should use cornwall units plus it makes the mercenaries more immersive

Honestly they could just redo the vanilla units and I would be very happy. Eastern Europe, Asia, and African Vanillas all look awful. Especially now with all the newer unit packs out.

I guess some of them will be multi-tag. Also would be nice if they fixed the ones used for the new tags included in 1.23, as I think that some of them don't work anymore in 1.24 (Transoxiana and Khorasan not using the Timurid sprites, Avaria not using Circassia...)

Now i'm in a demanding mood for the remaining Eastern tech units which look like they are from CK2. :D

Question - Have you seen the Daiymo models for MoH??

Today I noticed that some of the old content pack units (Netherlands in my case) still use the old musket model, instead of the much better looking one redone for the 1.19 patch (best dev diary ever). Is this intentional, or an oversight? Will it be changed?

It seems that they are going for a model where Europeans get their models per tag and ROTW has culture-based model groups. I actually like this, because most of the tags in Europe are already tied to regions and ethnicities, whereas many ROTW tags are often based around specific dynastic holdings or are simply non-existent now (like Mamluks, Bahmanis, Timurids, various "primitives"). This means that most of the EU tags are currently still around in a form of administrative/cultural regions (e. g. Hesse, Brittany or Moravia), so it makes sense to give them more flavour since the playerbase can actually relate to them. To be fair, specifically Ireland can hardly fall into this category, I doubt that many Irish now identify with medieval era clans (I hope I'm not mistakenly offending anyone). Instead, major national/regional tags should come under spotlight, especially eastern tech and German regions (German minors still lack T4s even though many of them always stick around until 1821 and litter the map with countless bodies of base models).

Of couse i did. MoH to me is unit pack porn. Love Chinese/Japanese/Manchu/Mongol/Korea and of course U-Tsang.

@Blobhemian there are tons of other tags that survived today and still have vanilla renders (Most notoriously Eastern Tech).
