Why Hungary don't have own unit models?
Well, hopefully we will get an “Austria” patch soon that addresses some more HRE gameplay or dynasties, and Hungary could get added on for unit models.

Until then, I’ve made a mod that gives Hungary some units :)

Well, i didn't expect the Middle East would get so much detail. I was expecting some kind of generic Arabic, Persian, etc units, and some unique ones (AQ/QQ, Persia proper, etc maybe). I really hope Eastern European units can get redone in the future (maybe along some kind of Balkans update?). Also, the Malaya-Indonesia region should really get his own units too, as they still use the generic Asian units from 2013...

They really just need to redo the remaining vanilla units like they did with the Western gfx. Their age is showing and some vanilla models are outright atrocious (namely EastEur and Africa)

Why Hungary don't have own unit models?

when we will get balkan renders ? :D :p

Yeah, the Balkan + Hungary are the biggest empty space in Europe if we speak about unique models :(

I've been unhappy ever since Theodoro and Circassia got unique models, leaving Trebizond to languish on its lonesome.

Balkan+Hungary/Georgia+Trebizond are begging for renders

If we ever get to the Hungarians, Balkans and Caucasus it would be an interesting challenge to find references for. If any of you know of any specific references for those areas feel free to post them in this thread or for any other areas of the world as well that we haven't covered yet. (Makes my job a little easier ;)). We keep a folder with any references that can be of use down the line in future unit packs.

If we start on one or all of the areas I know I'd want to get the Black legion/army in as the first tiers for Hungary, probably add some type of Grenzers to the Balkans area for the later tier of units. Since the areas were under Hapsburg or Ottoman control for much of the timeline it'll be interesting to try and extrapolate some plausible designs for them. Heh, Trebizond would be it's own kind of headache, like Theodoro, since I doubt it has much more than the Byzantine legacy to go on. Maybe we could do a take that's more about restoring Rome for them, units that could clone for the Roman Empire tag as well.

It's fun musing about what we could be doing in the future, and I hope we can close all gaps.

Can you remake tier 1 Ottoman soldier with some chainmail armors? also do you have plans for making unique renders for special units like Banners or Janissaries?

The Hungarian Kingdom was only in personal union with the Austrian Archduchy (1526-1918). As depicted in Meiou and Taxes mod. Until 1686, the Hungarian Order had the right to reign (when they recaptured Buda, but Hungary was separate within the empire).

And it would be good if Hungary be a formative state, for example by Transylvania (or by a custom nation). Because every erdélyi/Transilvanian fejedelem, who attacked the Habsburg Empire or the Ottomans wanted to reunite Hungary.

Awesome Idea, that would be really interesting :D

@Carlberg I have some references in a conversation I had when I was doing my Hungarian mod. I will add you to the conversation so that you can pull some info from there :)

One question. When you say references, are you speaking about books?

Probably also historically accurate reconstructions and depictions based on descriptions of armor and such.

Aye, I use reference as a blanket term for anything depicting, or sometimes describing, the uniform and attires. As an artist it's a bit easier to work from visual guides ;)

Sources like Ospreys Men-At-Arms series have been used to help guide the design of many units. (Arguably a book, but with pictures!)

Thank you. If I can convince my lazy arse to help with this, I might try to depict from sources and quotes my local area. Big IF. :D
