I feel like people saying "another Mission Tree DLC" are a bit unfair. Of course it's a major part, but by reading dev diaries it was quite clear that they did put more effort into creating some mechanics/updating old ones and interesting reforms/estates (for the listed countries) compared to previous few DLCs.

No, we're not.

The mission trees are given pride of place in the dev diaries.

Heard a streamer miscall it Dominion. Think that might have been a better name.
It's a Russia-related Sisters of Mercy tune at least.

I would have preferred if this DLC focused purely on a particular areas of the world, rather than just the major tags (who already have a lot of content). There loads of countries with little to no content. I know I want to see Caucasia and Black Sea countries updated.

Only if they make Divine Right far more literal. Time for Blood magic Enrique de Trastamara

Can always hope for the next patch for Byzantium.
We have been hoping for in the next patch for 10 years. Eventually they will move onto EUV and we still won't have addressed the issue. I've lost hope, and with it any hype to buy the expansion now that we Byzantinophiles have been passed by yet again.

In fairness, the Byzantine Empire plays an extremely small role in this time frame, being wiped out very shortly after the start date. It doesn't make much sense to give them a brand new tree and events when in reality they were stomped on. It would be really difficult to balance too, because it's one of the most renowned starting positions due to its difficulty, so changing the tree may make it easier, or harder, upsetting a lot of players, so best leave it as is for now.

But I have no doubt it will be updated before the end of the games cycle, possibly in the middle east DLC pack.

GREAT! cant wait. But with the update
Can we get a couple changes for Ottomans.
1. An event for Sabbatai Zevi. The Jewish messiah in the ottoman empire.
2. Greek/ orthodox provinces in Anatolia.
3. An ottoman/ castile AI that makes the selanika jewish event likely to fire.

dont understand people upset about lack of byzantium content. how many minors have a mission tree as expansive as the current byzantium one? devs would also be stepping through a minefield in constructing a modern mission tree that goes beyond permaclaims for a the dedicated byzantium fans who are notoriously demanding which would undoubtedly not please all of them - i do not envy them task and do not blame the devs for avoiding it

i think those who have purchased region specific dlc's (i.e. third rome, rule britannia) should be receiving the updated mission trees for those respective regions as a part of those dlc's - akin to how treasure fleets become available with the purchase of el dorado OR golden century. i understand paradox is a business and needs to sell product, but at the same time we are consumers who thought we were buying the definitive immersive experiences for nations included in those dlc's at time of purchase and to have the updated experience in that regard require additional cost feels wrong.

People are complaining but update for ALL the European majors gets a thumbs up from me these are after all the most played tags in the game for them to all get updates sounds sick as hell.

My opinion is if they decide to revisit HRE, Germany and Italy they should do it for free. Like you said most of the nations i mentioned are al ready part of the Emperor DLC. If they want to elevate some missions, modifiers and other stuf go for it. It could be like 1.29 Manchu update which offered free content for all EU4 players.
God I wish they would do something similar to the Manchu update. Hell this could’ve been the perfect scope for a Manchu style great powers update, with content that adds onto the existing flavor packs (making them actually worthwhile purchases) but no, we have the worst PR move possible.
