On another note - I do wonder how many people who have paid for the Ultimate Edition will never get to experience what they paid for because they have since died in the 2 years of delays. Just statistically, it has to be in thousands, right?
I am glad im not the only one that thinks about these things.

Is Colossal Order even a thing anymore? This development speed and communication (or lack of ) seems like a back door team who were drafted in last minute to hold the place together before it caved in.

When was the last time it wasn't a Paradox staff member that spoke to the community?

You spend five months creating what? 5 assets?? Modders can create assets by themselves in days.

By the way, to have piers and quays we have a mod! And bridges we have many, but with the bug of offices its impossible to have sizeable cities. To be disappointing, it would have been better if you release the patch right away and not anounce that you will release in a week a patch that should be included in a DLC that you delay 6 months!!

1. Bin the console version.
2. Move the Assets, mods and DLC folder from Appdata to the game's installation folder.
3. Stop working on DLC (this appears to be happening)
4. Temporarily/permanently remove Paradox Mods, leave mods and mod issues to the community.
5. Spend all your energy getting the core game stable.
6. Then do the DLC and farm out the base game to a 3rd party for console conversion.

Thank you for updating us on the progress. While it's disappointing to see yet another delay, I am relieved that work is still being done on this game, and it's not abandoned, like some high profile companies have done. Am I upset? No. Because I don't want to see a half effort put into content that is immediately panned by the community. Is this frustrating? Absolutely. A game released in 2023 that appeared rushed out of the gate, when we could have easily waited a year or more for launch while it was being polished. From an outsider's perspective, it just feels like CO was forced to release "something" before a specific deadline, ready or not. Many of us were still enjoying CS1, so we didn't absolutely need a CS2 in such a hurry. But in the end, what's done is done, and we're along for the ride now. Wish you all the best and hopefully it will be worth the wait.

  1. Great proposition
  2. Also great
  3. They can't, they've already sold it. If they don't release him, then the lawsuits will begin. Which they will most likely lose, because they have sold what they never made.
By they, I mean both CO and Paradox, who are responsible for them as a publisher
  4. It's also a good proposition, but this is a new Paradox policy
  5. I won't say anything, because we don't even know how many people are working on CS2 now
  6. You may disagree with me, but I would say that it would be better if they finished developing the content that they have already sold. Like the DLC about bridges. And would no longer be involved in the development of CS2. The people responsible for the game's failure should be fired ( Because as I understand it, some people are still in their places for some reason ). And the remaining developers should be organized into a new studio to develop a new game about city planning. CS3 or something new.

Wow that's even a worse state than I was expecting, the game is so deeply broken that they aren't even able to get basic DLC out beyond new labels for zones. I assume the asset editor is as dead as it was the last few updates considering the total lack of info there.

I was negative before but I still thought CO had the chance to do this? Now? This being all they have to show at this point? It's cooked. The game isn't getting anything after what is contractually obligated given how much of a toxic trainwreck it's become, it's an albatross hanging around PDX's neck and I think they're going to get rid of it as soon as they can. At least we have the original CS because I don't expect this one to have that longevity.

> 2 New Bridges
Including Combination bridge:
• Four-Lane Highway Double Train Track Double-Decked Extradosed Bridge
• Double Train Track Truss Arch Bridge

Excited to get train bridges back! Could you also include overground metro versions too?? Thanks!
This is the best example of an asset they could add in the game for absolutely 0 effort, and would allow us to build metro lines going over a river.

But nope, it’s not happening, for some reason…

Yeah, I'm with you on wanting bugfixes over asset editor.

I would sacrifice Asset Editor if it means more bugfixes for the simulation. I would rather have the base foundation of the game be solid than to have the asset editor breaking things left and right.

Absolutely disagree. If they sacrifice the asset editor, it will be the final nail in the coffin for this game and for CO.

Another delay is disappointing, but that's ok, I'm used to waiting. If the June 11 patch fixes the economic bugs in the game ( specialized industry not leveling up, office 5/5 bug, etc) then I will be satisfied. With the base economy not working, the games is nothing more than a city painter, which can be fun. Sometimes the game does look really beautiful, but a deeper game is what really makes me want to play again.

Its not a remotely good city painter because there is no asset editor.

Modders even created a functional small ferry system. This mod is probably going to get banned when the DLC releases (if it does one day).

I’m here in the support CO camp. I’ve decompiled your game and contributed to multiple mods. I’ve dissected your work and find it to be exemplary, but the systems are complex.

Paradox forced an early release. I hope they’ve learned their lesson. Investment in games takes time and it must be right. I think and pray that this game gets a redemption arc that makes No Man’s Sky bow down in respect.

I hope this is a lesson to Paradox corporate overlords and investors: games are a labor of love by developers, designers, and fans alike. You can’t rush it; you need to left the team finish. No Mans Sky and Cyberpunk are beautiful disasters not aspirational goals. They needed to let the team finish.

I appreciate the hard work, the depth of the game, and the updates you’ve done. This game isn’t perfect but it’s coming along well. I honestly hope it lasts a long time. I’ve already exceeded 1000 hours in the game and that beats my time in cs1, and I bought both on day 1.

Please keep hardening this game. I’ll keep playing.
By CO's own admission it was years overdue when it launched, where are you possibly getting that PDX forced and "early" release? They were given a significant amount of time beyond what they were allocated.

I'd be interested to find out what state this DLC was in when promised Q1 2024?

Just a reminder, this is what we were sold by PDX in 2023. Granted, people are still waiting on PDX to actually make an Empires of Sin DLC that was due years ago as well, it's a bit of a pattern at this point that they sell things they have no clear idea on how to deliver. I don't know if that counts as fraud, but it certainly isn't acceptable for a massive publicly traded company that's supposed to be made of professionals?

"Delaying or cancelling a DLC in a Season Pass

We understand that game development doesn't always go as planned. If you think you aren't going to be able to release a DLC into the Season Pass by the quarter you promised, we allow you to self-reschedule the release date one time only during the Season Pass. You can pick a new date up to 3 months later than you originally selected."

You know. The Waterfronts Pass. Part of the Ultimate Edition. Delayed more than once (before the above rule was implemented), here once more and much more than 3 months (thanoriginally (so back in 2024) selected).

I wish you all the best but a patch every 3 MONTHS to a very unfinished game, and one that is far from players' *and* developer's (you said it yourself) expectations, isn't the way to go. You're making huge leaps with each patch, I don't doubt it, but I fear the huge gaps result in less and less potential customers.

But what do I know. I only work in gamedev.

Ban me if you want, just like you blocked me on instagram for saying the CEO should resign a year ago. I don’t care at this point. This game has been my favorite franchise since the OG release and I bought the Ultimate Edition of this cluster of a game. I have built some pretty cities over the past two years, but none of them function properly because the simulation is still buggy AF.

I am sick of being gaslit by this company. No other company would get away with selling something to a consumer, then continually delaying the release of what they laid for. This isn't Kickstarter and you’re not a startup.

Refund the ultimate edition players the difference owed for the unreleased expansion if they request it, and allow Steam to do so. At present they won’t refund it.

Meanwhile the competent developers at Frontier have been rolling out one massive update/patch/DLC after another since launching PlanCo 2 this year. Their game is also extremely complicated and yet they have a working game, listen to their users’ feedback, communicate a clear schedule of releases and STICK TO IT.

This entire game and its fanbase is dead. And likely, some of us will indeed die before it is ever fully realized.

You are harming the reputation of CO and CS2 by continually ignoring the community of players and by always doing the bare minimum to communicate.
What reputation? CS2 (and by extension CO) has an extremely poor reputation in the gaming community at large. You think it's bad here? Ask a random gamer somewhere else what they think. People on this forum are here because they care. As bad as it is here it's much worse in the wider community.
