This is more of a general Europa engine question, but what's the difference between "Random = yes" and "Random = x"? Is it a percentage chance that the event will actually fire, or what?

That question belongs in the modding subforum really (the "event fixing emporium" thread)

random = x means the engine rolls a 100 sided dice and returns true if it scores below x
random = yes means the event is one of those random events that give you blueprints, manpower from women entering the labour force, dissent reduction from military parades etc. From hoi2wiki:

random = yes [/no] - this event uses a hard-coded randomized event system. It applies to all nations - you need not use a "country = X" line. As of HOI2 1.3b / DD 1.2, this condition is not recommended for use because it is reset every time the game is reloaded (you cannot control true frequency) and also because there is no information on how it works precisely or how frequently events using it are supposed to happen in theory.

Thank you. I'll remember to ask there from now on.

Hi all! I'm playing as Germany in the 1914 scenario and the problem is that the Poles became independents but didn't have any TT in 1920. I've seen that all the files are correct, did you know why this happens? Thanks.

Which patch? I checked the tech file from 1.03 and there are Polish teams available from 1900.

It's 1.02, but I checked the tech file also ant the are TT available from 1918. Now I'm going to update the game and look if it's ok. Thanks

I just mentioned that many Mods are transferred to DH now (i didn't played Hoi2 or any version of it for a long time since i played Twicky :D). Do you know how i can get the patches for DH (the FAQ is not up to date) and is it possible to have different patchversions and choose them by the DH loader?

PS: I do own DH, i bought the hard copy (i live in Germany, we got a hard copy :)) a long time ago... need to dig the box out :D.

Why can't I post attachments in the Darkest Hour AAR thread?

Hello guys,

I bought Darest Hour on Paradox Web Shop and then I got key that I used in Steam to activate and download the game. Unfortunately, the key I have does not work as a cd-key needed to register on this forum to get 1.03 beta patch. I have no cd-key tab in Steam. What's wrong? How can I get my key to register my game on this forum?

Thank you for helping me!

Thomas

No problem. Unfortunately I can't give you any more help as this is completely handled by the publisher, not us developers.
However, BjornB is looking into this and I trust him, so hopefully it will be solved soon. My suggestion to you is to keep checking that thread for updates (eventually ask for updates if you see nothing after a few days).

We fixed issues that used to cause engine lagging in some situations (usually in late games) on top of the plain speed optimizations we do whenever we work on any part of the engine, but as we added new features like the detailed casualties tracker I don't expect the game to be noticeable faster then 1.02 except in some situations (because of the fixed lagging issues).

About patch 1.03...is it just an impression/coincidence or the game runs even better? My computer is pretty old, and sometimes it switched off due to high temperature when playing 1.02, but since I installed 1.03, it has never happened and i have the feeling it runs smoother...
That may be because it's winter. :p

I see that there are a lot of ghost naval fleets in the game created by the AI. Aren't these slowing the game down?
