How common was it for those of Byzantine culture to castrate and/or blind their prisoners? In the game it seems that no one ever leaves a Byzantine prison without one or the other.
A blind king of Bohemia John the Blind 1310-1346 did lead his troops in several battes, so why not?Blindness has now been made a Health trait, but should blind characters be able to lead troops and/or fight duels on the battlefield?

"It's so dark down here. I can't see a thing."
"Oh no. What a nightmare..."
"Sorry."
Back on topic: I imagine letting blind people fight duels (or at least penalizing them for choosing to run away) is probably a bit silly. But I'm not totally sold on preventing them from leading troops though, since I could imagine a commander might only need to have events described. A handicap, to be sure, but not the worst.
I agree. I'm not so disturbed by them leading troops as by a message saying, "You see a foe across the field...." Uh, I actually don't see anything. And I certainly am not going to charge him.

Sure, but did he actually engage in personal combat?

cure_illness = yes
That's how he diedSure, but did he actually engage in personal combat?
Side note: Interestingly, now that it is a health trait, it can be cured by some events that cure illnesses. Hrm.
Anything that does:
Code:cure_illness = yes
may very well beat blindness now. This may not be a permanent feature.

Yes. And there are also justing events popin up instead of actual duel events.Anybody else having an issue with duels/dueling? I'll get the popup that I'm about to fight someone 1v1 in war ("Prepare to die, lowborn scum!") and then it just skips over and acts like I was never going to duel anybody.
Yes. In 6 mins or so.Is there an update scheduled for today? Since I've lost the save I was heavily invested in I don't want to start another game if there's going to be new files.

It is worth noting that save-game compatibility is always a top priority for HIP mods, and you will be notified whenever compatibility will break (and possibly provided alternative download links to the latest-compatible version for a period of time in that event). Users should rest easy on that front. That said, yeah, it's always good to start a fresh campaign on a fresh release.
