I d/led the patch but I stopped it cause I thought it was doing something I didnt want it to do. When I ran the patch again it told me HOI2 was not installed and exited.
Now what?? Any ideas?

Are you saying that the patch has been applied, but you cannot get it to start properly? Or are you saying that the patch itself cannot complete successfully?
In any case, what's the publisher of your version. That info should be somewhere on the box, the CD or in the manual.
Hagen II said:The german version of the game is created/distributed by Koch. (It certainly does not mention anything other than Paradox at bootup)
What surprises me is that when I check the CD, there are demos of Crusader Kings and these could be confusing the issue. Maybe I'll try to download the HOI2 files only, and then install from my HD. If I install from the CD, the shortcut icon says "Crusader Kings". Also the language this is done in is french, in spite of me buying the game in Germany.![]()
So, I can play the game, but I can't load the patch, as it says the game is not loaded.
If the replacement game from Saturn does not work, I'm sending the disc to Paradox to check unless someone here can help.
Gaute65 said:Demos off CK? IIRC there is not made a demo of CK. Do you mean a trailer?
jpd said:Sounds rather weird. Especially the "crusader kings" bit as icon name. I can understand that a demo for a different game is supplied on your CD (that's not too uncommon), but the main game's icon should still be called hearts of iron II or something similar.
When you do a fresh install from the CD and run the game from the icon, what version number does it report in the main menu screen?
Hagen II said:Could be. But I have EU II, and this is the prequel, so it could be a free upgrade, or a demo as you say.
I live next door to Germany, so should my "nation" be France, or maybe Belgium? Note that this problem did not happen with EU, or Legion.Castellon said:This happens either with a Pirate copy or with a copy of the game that is purchased from one distrubutor and attempted to be played in a different distributors nation..
Thanks for your vote of confidence.Castellon said:Since I do not think you are a pirate, that leaves us with the second explanation..
Castellon said:Try settign the Language manually in the Registry.
Gaute65 said:Right click on the Icon, open properties. What file is the target file and what directory does it start?
XK is not an upgrade of EU2. How big is the ck folder and can you install it and play?

There seems to be nothing to do with CK, other than the name.
BTW, this

My bad.o
Gaute65 said:Strange, it looks right, except it should not be paradox entertainment, but paradox interactive. Hope that the new cd from saturn will fix it.
