Time of troubles...

I should learn a bit more about Russian history. Anyway, thanks.

PS. If anyone is interested in playing Sicily in an IGC 2.1 game let me know. They are hard, but in an interesting position in the med. sea. Really need some play testing post 1520s.....(game starts in 1494).

I have been asking about this for a while. Still playing?

Sorry Cosmo, I did not see anyone asking. I must have missed your message somewhere. I will ZIP up the sicily scenario after Hjarg gets done with his AAR and if IGC2.2 is coming out soon I will wait and test it with 2.2 before release.

Sorry I missed your request(s).

sicily scenario

I have been trying to play Sicily by editing the .EUG file as we had to do previously. This always causes a crash. Is it possible that revolters cannot be played in ICG 2.1?

U cannot play with countries that aren't there in 1492. Trying to take control of a non existing country quite unsurprisingly results in a crash :D Playing revolters has never been possible. Unless u make them to be there from the start like ErrantOne did.

Hi. I can't get IGC to install. I've already applied the 1.09NA patch to my game, and I've already installed the latest "Java Virtual Machine" as directed by the IGC_2_0k.txt file.

After I unzip the IGC files in the EU directory, the PATCH.EXE appears to run properly, but when I try to run the IGCCONFI.EXE, I get a message "Failed to read 1492_IGC.inc file." Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Kent

First of all, use IGC 2.2, which is available on the IGC web site (link in my signature).

Then, make sure that you have extracted the IGC to your _main_ EU folder.

Run patch.exe, then run IGCConfig.exe.

Colors for minor nations

Is there a way we could change the colors for some of the minor nations?

Brandenburg and Pommerania have the same color, and since they start next to eachother it's kinda confusing. Furthermore, brandenburg often spans south or northeast a little, causing it to touch the teutons and thuringen, who also have the same color.

If it is possible to draw ANY map with exactly 4 colors without having any two adjacent regions be the same color, then we should be able to have that be true in Europa most of the time with 15 (or however many we have...)

By the way, the above statement was proven by a bunch of mathematicians and supercomputers a couple years ago, in case you were wondering.

Well, Doomdark, I appreciate the advice, but it hasn't helped.

After I read your response, I uninstalled my previous copy of EU, and reinstalled the basic game in its default location: c:\program files\europa universalis. I applied the the 1.09NA patch. I copied IGC_2_2.zip into c:\program files\europa universalis, and unzipped it, overwriting existing files as required.

I ran patch.exe, and I think it worked OK; the message flashed by too quickly for me to read.

I then ran IGCCONFI.EXE, and three lines of text appeared before the box closed. Once again, the third line of text read "Failed to read 1492_IGC.inc file."

I have downloaded and installed the latest version of the virtual java machine from the link provided in the IGC_2_2.txt file. I presume that it installed OK, but I don't know if there is any way to test that.

If you have any more ideas I'd like to give them a try. I have a couple of friends who think that they deserve to rule the world, and they need to be humbled as soon as possible. ;-)

Thanks for your help.

Kent

Well, I can't offer much more advice. Check that the 1492_IGC.inc file is present under your scenario folder.

I have installed NA Patch 1.09 and IGC 2.2b, but after running patch.exe and IGCconfig.exe it says cannot read text.csv, cannot write to text.csv and cannot replace with temp.csv. The game runs perfectly fine except with the Fantasy option Vinland which causes crash. Any thoughts?

i think you need to use 2.2c to fix this problem.

Problem solved

Hello. I previously made a couple of posts about not being able to get the IGC to run properly. It turns out that my ancient zip/unzip program was the problem. I just installed Winzip yesterday, and after using it to unzip IGC, the game works fine.

Graphics Bug -- not sure if it's IGC or EU

I'm playing Venice using patch 1.09 and IGC 2.2c. I'm in 1705 or so, so I didn;t want to move to 2.3 until I finished this campaign.

Anyway, I'm Venice and my Land Tech is 39 or 40 but my little army guys still look like the Musket Era, i.e., Fortress 3-4 style graphics, not Fortress 5+ graphics. Almost everyone else has that nice 18th century look to them and my guys still are wearing conquistador-style hats.

Is this an EU bug (i.e. they never gave Venice the last set of graphics), is it ICG, or something else. it wouldn;t have bothered me at all except I'm new enough to the game that I kept waiting to catch up on land tech before going to war and ended up figuring out that I had caught up, just my graphics hand;t updated.

Thanks,

Andy

It's defo not an IGC thing. Sometimes the game does that. Dunno why but it's not the IGC.

Those wouldn't be Northern American ones that aren't subject to the ToT ?
