Damn, I was expecting the return of weekly DD...
Thank you for your work on Imperator, and fingers crossed we'll see more content in 2022!

Damn. I guess the cold logic of the market was always going to bring us here but it still hurts. Just as the game really hit its stride.
I was really hoping Arheo could implement some more of his vision before it got shelved.

That's really unfortunate.... the bad launch seems to have crippled permanently the game's perspectives, even if now it is a great one.
Thanks for your effort and your work. I am sure that you will improve the quality of the other products that you are going to work on.

That is pretty close to what I was expecting, except that I was really hoping that there would be a preset timeline for when work on Imperator will resume.

Without that it's unfortunately all to common for a temporary break to turn into a permanent end-of-development.

But alas, I can only hope PDS will prove me wrong on the second part.

That is the reason we haven't said anything before now, even though the decision was made awhile ago. We were hoping we'd have the solution in place to the extent we could communicate some kind of time line to you all, but alas things have simply moved slower than we hoped. And it was important that we told you about this before PDXCON, as we have no desire for you to have misplaced expectations on the event, or the team, nor do we want the people that have moved to other projects to be caught between two different realities when they engage with you on here, social media or at the event.

Yeah, that's the tragedy of a bad launch. :-/ This news, while unwelcome, is definitely not unexpected.

That isn't our intention, but obviously no one can predict the future. Imperator is in a good place right now, so we felt it was safe to pause development for a bit and help reinforce some other projects. This isn't ideal, we've traditionally moved people around projects quite a lot to ensure we can get things done, we're trying not to move people around so much now (because it causes other problems), and in the short term that means one of the projects unfortunately had to give up a few people.
It is a no, but also a yes. In less words.

Not good news in my book. From the perspective of the company probably a good call with a new game announced and the disappointing result of leviathan a clear sign more attention should be given in the final stages of development. That being said I hate seeing Arheo move out of this project as well as the team. Imperator is in a great place precisely die to their work but there's still do much untapped potential it just hurts seeing it so low on the priority list of the company.

Sad news but understandable, my sincere thanks to everyone who has worked on Imperator. I'd very much like to see the eventual return to development. For now, let's hope the modding community can keep us entertained.

Thank you all very much for the last few updates.

This one hurts. :-(

I hope they don't abandon the project forever, but alas. :-/
I hope, too. Unfortunately, the player count is very low, and therefore the game is probably not interesting for the company. At least, we are sure that very competent developers such as Arheo will improve the quality of other products.

Very disappointing news. Despite the game has really improved in its design and gameplay, the numbers are what they are. Hopefully PDS's next games will be released in better conditions than Imperator Rome or, more recently, the disaster of EU4's Leviathan.

Tbh it sounds like a way of not officially saying that the game is being discountinued. I guess we'll see. In any case great job to Arheo and the team for the fantastic work up until now.

What an incredible disappointment.

This is much worse than anything I expected. What an absolute waste....

If you look at the recent updates of all PDX games, Imperator (and maybe CK3) is the only game that has been improving in the right direction.

The latest update of Stellaris was a disaster. The latest updates and DLCs for EU4 have been a disaster as well.

The one game that makes a successful turnaround and grows into something genuinely unique, you pull the plug on it....
