Due to some events or something like that. Or some flags. The same reason that the map is divided into areas and regions too; just on the largest scale. There has always been continent size regions; even before states were introduced. Back then they just overlapped most of the time.
I for instance think that the Asia super region was what was used to decide who you got that aweome expansion ideas finisher CB against.
No. What I mean is why is your map being divided into superregions?

It's an option for convenience: you can choose to see the whole map or just a specific region :) (the regions are the ones defined in Europa Universalis IV/common/superregion.txt)
Also what about including some legend showing how many people the different colours represent? Like in the old map.
Sure, I can do that :)

Oh I hadn't noticed! Either @Romaoplays scaled it down when uploading or the forum did. Here, this is the unmodified file that I sent him, it's 5932x2048 as it should (it's 300px wider than provinces.bmp due to a small bug in the program that I still have to fix, but it's 300px of nothing): https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B2Fwk8v5F2UZeHFxQTZsd1RYTkE
I uploaded it to an independet file hoster ( I'm not too familiar with google drive ), must've been what reduced it's size.

It's not showing for me now. Could you try and upload it directly to the fora? Or perhaps use imgur.
I used google drive itself this time, maybe try refreshing the page? It seems to be working for me

Now it's there; thanks.

Your inferior Linux strikes again, 'litz! :p
Silence, Windows peasant.:p
Anyway afaik the reason some pictures break like that is that some ways of showing images are blocked by default in Firefox due to being a security risk.

Me too! Which side? Hey, want to play with someone in your time zone?
Hilo. Though I'm not particularly interested in multiplayer I'm afraid, but thanks for the offer. :)
