I love both games but Just looking at the map, interface, sprites, and etc, CK2 seems to "look" spiffier I guess you could say. Am I alone in thinking this?

I'm not saying EU4 is worse as a game, I am just saying CK2 looks to be designed.... prettier? EU4 almost seems like updated graphics of EU3.

And I admit... The map itself is mighty fine lookin' in EU4 :p

Same. CK2 just looks 'crisper' to me.

Indeed it does.

Are we talking about the graphics on the map or the UI? I like EU:IV's map textures a lot more, but I think CK2's UI is better than EU:IV's UI.

pretty much this.

I thought the EU4 sprites and map were excellent, the best Paradox have done to date. CK2s graphics arent much of a step up from previous games like EU3 IMO. In fact though EU: Rome has a better map than any of these games.

Well first off, I think both maps are amazing. A big leap from any previous games. But I think ppl think the CK2 map looks better because there's more detail since the map only covers the Europe-West Asia-North Africa area, so it's more focused. And there are way more provinces in these areas so you can zoom in more.
Just my 2 cents..

You guys are kidding, right?

After playing EU4, CK2 looks amazingly 'oldschool' despite its recent release. The muted tones, square rigid interface, clunky borders and map models/textures all feel quite outdated now.

Which isn't to say it's not a fairly attractive game... but really... cmon'.

I can say that, for me, EU IV map has very plastic feel to it. I don't like it. CK II map doesn't have that feel to it.

maybe it's the general design?
the buttons in EU4 are more "modern" and streamline-evocative (not to mention the general animation delay makes them feel quite snappy), while CK2 buttons, frames, and menus are all highly stylized. I mean come on, the main menu has gargoyles in it, and the tab interfaces has stained glass - there's no way that could NOT be oldschool-evocative
