So close, and yet so far away!

Having been in our new apartment for only 2 days (I moved in a week late because it took that long for my fiance to get confirmation of employment so she could sign the lease), my fiance has made an appointment to hook up the internet to our apartment on Friday. As it stands, I don't have to work Friday or Saturday. So YES my friends, that is my final deadline, and it is a very hard deadline as my brain is absolutely crawling with ideas that have boiled and bubbled and stewed there for God knows how long. I must get these things out of my head, or I may very well explode!

But in the meantime, as I'm writing this on one of the Business Center computers here at our apartment complex, the scent of chlorine and fresh air teases my nostrils. I think my swimming trunks aren't squirreled away too badly. Off I go for a refreshing reprieve from the godforsaken morase of heat and humidity that is Michigan in early summer!

I thank you all sincerely for maintaining this AAR in my absence. I won't forget your kindness, and can only hope to continue to earn it.

Sincerely

InVert

Ahh, I'm grateful for the cool, sweet breeze that blows across the Atlantic; to live away from the sea is to be stifled and opressed by heat ;) It's nice to see your return, hot and sticky though it may be :p

Very glad you're back Invert, and am looking forward to the next update.

I just got this game last weekend and have since wasted many hours starting and re-starting the 1936 scenario as various nations. I got as far as 1944 in my first run-through playing an isolationist USA (to get the feel for the game) before I restarted.

That being said, I just found this little gem this morning and spent most of the day here at work reading through it. As a fellow student of history (got my BA in it a few years back), I'm a big fan of alternate history and "what-if" scenarios. I'm currently playing one such scenario as the Confederate States (created through starting in 1936 as USA, forcing an event, saving, and then reloading the game as CSA) and am having a blast. Haven't done anything except build my army and industry (to get two more research slots), but I'm nearly ready to unleash my Southern boys upon the world.

Anyhow, just wanted to say that this one's a dandy and it got me through a slow workday. Excellent stuff.

f .... amazing! *with the capital F*

Dude, finish this off like you're started, then print everything up and apply to some TV station (or couple of them)

You could write scenario for new ww2 series ...

Even better then Band of Brothers ... ;)

Or even better, move to europe :D back 2 you're roots m8,
(try hallmark tv station) :)

I'd certainly back that up ;)

How'd you force the creation of the CSA?

Two ways to do it.

One, start a new game as USA in 1936. Hit f12 and type in "event 67". Then choose the appropriate option. Voila! CSA, Texas, and California are all independent of the USA.

The other way is to start a game as any nation other than USA. Hit f12 and type in "acceptall". Then DOW USA. Wait a week, then sue for peace. Demand all the appropriate territories (be sure to write them down beforehand; there are quite a few of them), and the USA will accept. The newly-created CSA will be a puppet of whatever nation you chose, so be sure to release them. Then save the game, reload as CSA, and revoke military access of former master.

You now have a fully independent CSA.

Be sure to modify their belligerence level if you use the second option. In my game, I forgot to do it, so the CSA in my game started with 48 belligerence.

King of Nines: Thanks, seems easier than having to modify files.

kenneththegreat- Yes I have, but only heard of them. I was born in 1983 FYI.

OK. The deal is: A-HA said they'd launch one album in (for example) january 2000. They instead push the deadline forward and FINALLY release it in june 2000. :D

PS: What is FYI short for

Edit: Ah, for your information, of course

So they said it'd be earlier than their original planned release date, but it was in fact released well after the original date?

Failing to see how this relates to the AAR :p P.S. Bring on the updates :)

 how appropriate that they came on Live8 as i posted!
