I just started a game as Princely Federation, researched AT and had no problem attaching ART and AT to an INF division. There must be something else that causes your problem.

Did you build them all at once or build the infantry and attach the brigades later? I can build them all at once.

Distance?
I remember that in some mods I couldn't attach brigades because the unit was too far away (or perhaps cut off by water? can't remember). It was necessary to bring them locationswise together.
Good thought, but no. Remember, I am attaching the first brigade and then unable to attach the second. Question, are we allowed to attach save games here in the thread?

I´ve built the brigades separately and attached them to an already existing INF division.
I can do that for single brigades only. I cannot attach the second brigades. Thus my confusion.

Multiple saves, yes. Different country, no. I am doing an aar on it and don't want to see what other countries are doing.

Hello ,

Someone can confirm me that the last version for this mod is directly updated in the 1 post of this forum ? We are in 1.9.2 for thsis mod?**

thanks a lot/
I hope so, that is the version I am using for my current AAR

For me it says 1.9.3 (Sep 12 2020).
Was that on the front page?
ETA: ok, that must be the version I have. I can't check until I get back from Florida

Wasn't there a Hotfix for 1.9.3 released a few weeks later? One would have to dig through the pages of this thread but I'm pretty positive there was.

I do remember, however, that I found 1.9.3 to be much more "crashy" than 1.9.2. You may want to download both and try them. I was never able to finish a game in 1.9.3.

That is the latest official release.

However, there are rather frequent updates on Github. I think the Github build of the game comes with all the usual disclaimers (not balanced, may not be stable, etc.), but I have been playing using various Github builds over the last couple years and haven't had any more problems than I normally do trying to run DH on Windows 10 64 bit. And there's a lot of new stuff in there.

Thank you, @TheCrimsonMajor - this is an excellent advice. Indeed, the archive on Github seems to have received many updates and I've downloaded the zip from there and played through a game with South Africa. I've had no stability issues at all. Unless an official 1.9.4 turns up, the "nightly builds" are probably the way to go for now.

I have noticed that Ecuador starts with 0 resources and manpower. I was not sure what to do, so I copy/pasted the numbers from Darkest Hour Full 1936 scenario and adding a little manpower. You can directly edit the file in Kaiserreich scenarios folder.

One little question. Is there any point in researching Indirect Approach on the Naval doctrines tech tree. I don't know any country that uses it. Is it just like DH where it's only good for submarines ? Does it give some advantage to CL and DD ?

I am one of those who doesn't use it, but iirc, I think it gives bonuses to battle cruisers and heavy cruisers. See this post by @Altruist He gives a pretty good explanation.

I find myself with a bit of time this Christmas, and as a way to give back for all the fun from this mod over the years, here's a little teaser of what I threw together this morning. Only territorial and alliance changes so far, the OOB, balancing resources and fixing events are still TDB. Long story short, I wasn't happy with how Austria-Hungary was portrayed in Kaiserreich, so I started 'fixing' it to my liking, then it turned into necessarily 'fixing' the German East and Italy too.

I followed the 'new' HOI4 Kaiserreich lore based on their wiki for some parts (so Italy is flipped with the commies in the north) and Nationalist France owns Corsica. The rest is what years of reading dry academic tomes gets you. In particular, all of Austria-Hungary is directly in the German sphere now, as is Finland. Based on the war aims readings I'd done, this mod was already pretty maximalist in terms of both western and eastern German war aims, so I figured we might as well go all the way. There are some concessions to gameplay but I feel much happier with the result in terms of history. There'll be a new lore writeup at the end too.

Germany is more of a Med 'power' now like they wanted to be, at the expense of kissing Ottoman, Bulgarian, Greek and Romanian good will goodbye.

The main goal of a game as Austria is no longer to wait until 1937 to reunite the empire and transform into a Danubian federation via event, but to shake off your puppet status and leave the Germans somehow while also probably getting dragged into a war with them against the commies. Actually reuniting the empire should feel like more of an accomplishment than just save scumming to get the right event outcome. The boost which the Commune gets from the Italian commies actually contributing directly to the war now should be balanced out by the gain Germany gets from having many more (relatively useless) allies, but hopefully some dedicated playtesters will be able to let me know...

I also realize the actual dev team just redid Austria (and I think Poland) so this is throwing part of their work out but I think it'll be worth it in the end! Also very surprised and grateful they're still working on it all this time. Since I don't want to bother with github, I'll just upload the changed files here when I'm done and someone can integrate it into the main mod pack later.

That looks great! The Kaiserreich team for Darkest Hour has a Discord for themself, if you're interesting in helping out or just talk to them, you can find them here:
