Germany is hard, first of, the only "real" place of expansion is Helvetia and Pommern. After that...not much...just fiddle my thumbs.

You're underestimating Germany's potential.
I wouldn't be fiddling thumbs in your place ;)

That's true for most other countries too. Poland has Lithuania, but then will have to fight humans. Same goes for Russia or Italy or anyone else. But Germany is THE monster in CK from beginning. Even without expansion it has more manpower than Russia.

I still think a human vassal or something like that is needed for Germany. Although one could play intriguing enough near the Germans and try to weaken it from the outside.
 
Human vassal's to easy to counter.
Pesky neighbours would help a lot more..;)
 
Yea...that is what I meant. I could go storming about, and it would be quite difficult to stop me.
 
Now you people do not have my ICQ number which is a shame. I have never ever liked ICQ what so ever but yesterday i got my thumb out of my ass and got trillian.

Yeah, indeed, put Sander as Apulia and the ICQs when you have time Sterk.
 
Wouldn't it be much better to have Pereyaslavl or Pronsk in the game rather than Novgorod?
 
I'd recommend that there not be a player Kiev and a player Novgorod because of the inheritance possibilities. I would not like to see Kiev or Novgorod be wiped out early because of mass assassinations.

Will this start from the default scenario within the game of Hastings 1066? Or will I need to install a certain scenario? If so please let me know. And count me in as Norway. Will be a pleasure to play amongst you guys.

You will not NEED to install a certain scenario (as it would be loaded in the game), but we would prefer if you did. It is called Touch of Astrea and should be linked somewhere in the thread and it's in the scenarios and modifications forum. It would be good to see a Norway and hopefully we will also have a Denmark, allowing for some inter-Scandinavian rivalry to go along with the Russians.

Here is another question and Im sorry if it is posted I missed it. I have seen the discussions about certains rules. I will go with what everyone else comes to on the vote. I am just curious if there is a rulesheet or forum that I can study and learn the rules before we play.
 
well pretty much EVERY other nation has been taken I decided to take a rus nation.
 
Hey Richard. Here are the rules to the game that was scrapped by us in order to start this one. These are pretty much all the rules to my knowledge, save for one or two variations we discussed in this thread.

Oh yes, I'm glad you took a Rus nation which can balance out myself and the other Russian power and Georgia. However, I believe you could balance it better, and have a much better chance at survival (further away from me, more expansion room, no risk of being inherited/assassinated) if you took either Pereyaslavl or Pronsk. They are essentially the same power level, probably more powerful.
 
I saw the map and decided to follow the advice and take Pereyaslavl as is a better nation to play for me, hmm pls change the first post.
Hopefully we will have a great game this sunday!

Well, I was hoping that Sid would change, but now it would seem even more dangerous for the Duke of Kiev. Positioned between the Kingdom of Poland and Duchy of Pereyaslavl, I don't think he could survive that easily. My advice, Sid, would be to switch to a different Russian power. It is completely your choice, though.
