Yes, I know, but you could have the Woodbrothers as your "abilities", while you are a Brotherhood supporter. But I would more excited to see the Red Priests anyway.

I don't see a problem with having the Brotherhood Without Banners as a secret society, or at least don't agree with the objections to the idea that have been expressed thus far.

Fundamentally, it would be highly thematically similar to the Monastic Orders in vanilla Monks and Mystics. You can't really join them per se because you're a feudal lord and they're literally just a bunch of monks, but you can serve as a lay member and use your position of privilege to support them—as well as strive to uphold the same principles they preach in your own daily life. Obviously you wouldn't be participating in guerilla activities yourself as a "supporter" of the Brotherhood Without Banners, but you could be funneling them supplies, pulling strings to get their members out of being hanged, etc. Their principles of sticking up for the smallfolk could also inform (via society events) how you rule your people, maybe giving you traits like just and kind while costing you some prestige. Really, it would just be a secret and secular version of the vanilla Monastic Orders.

Even if you accepted those arguments, you're still left with the problem that they still only exist during a very short time period. Time and effort should be spent on creating societies that could exist for the entire game, not just in a few bookmarks.

I would guess the swashbuckling "Bravos of Braavos" would be a good choice for a Society. Not secret, by any stretch of the word, but they form a notorious subgroup of Essos that is famous/infamous everywhere for their particular behaviour. They also have some potential for landed players while still being lore friendly. I mean, I don't remember reading anything about the bravos making any vow of poverty/celibacy or having to dedicate all their time to anything that would impede ruling altogether. They just tend to drink and boast a lot, but who knows what they do when they are not threatening passerbys.

By their description in the books, I would guess being a member would net (obviously) both the Duelist and Brave traits, but at the same time you would almost certainly lose Kind and get the traits Wroth, Proud and/or even Arbitrary, too (the Bravos are notorious for bullying random people with no martial training into one sided "duels" to death, if I'm not mistaken).

What about Water Dancers? They don't seem too wroth to me but incredibly patient and diligent. It seems having a Bravos society would be much like the vanilla one where you get good traits out of it.

Water dancers =/= Bravos.

Worship of the Others would seem to be a good concept for a secret society that could potentially be spread all across the world of ASOIAF. Most cultures, from Lonely Light to the Grey Waste, have some conception of Azor Ahai (though often by a different name), so it would be conceivable for White Walker-worshipers to be hiding amongst those same societies. Perhaps kin-sacrifice is an important component of their practices, a la Craster?
