It's a point, definitely; I think if I had owned one more Scottish province, I would have gotten the Highlands in the conversion. But as it stood, it all went to your vassal Scotland. Still, I'm just as glad not to have a major point of friction between us right from the start of EU2. Of course, I do have that ancient claim on the North of England. York was a Viking town, you know. And Norwegians were kings in Ireland once. :D

The idea was, as Norway and me were almost the same size, to make a quick attack for Kom's demense, making sure he lost more troops then I did. But when both France and Spain attacked my defenses crumbled. I could only manage around 150K troops against Frances 250K and however much Spain sent north.

The whole war lasted like 2 maybe 3 years? I lost all my troops except 75k (that is 335K dead!) on the gamble to quickly end the war. Attrition on big armies is truly horrible.

Next time different strategy - same victim(s).

Sterk I can not bring just retribution to the wicked by myself - next week be here please.

Well golly,

Italy raises one hundred thousand troops to help Burgundy and isn't even mentioned by our ally. KoM you conveniently failed to mention that Poland declared war on Byzantium, forcing me to stand with them causing Poland to invade Italy with over eighty thousand. So while we were trying to help we had forces in Byzantium fighting the KoJ, Northern Italy fighting Poland and in the low countries fighting Norway. Well golly it feels good to be appreciated. Oh and we did our level best to deter further escalation of the conflict to no avail.

Oh and the plague is killing our citizens by the bushel.

Poland managed to invade you in spite of the ongoing war with Hungary? I must admit I wasn't aware of that, hence I didn't mention it. Where the devil did the Polish AI find 80k troops? You'd think Ear would have reduced it a bit by now.

By the way, Ear, I assume we can end this war with a peaceful exchange of provinces (I get Sandomierskie and you get a province agreed to be Hungarian)?

I didn't notice that you did Trav, until you said they were retreating because of high attrition - you had been sending personal messages to cheech instead of me all along. None of your troops arrived in Burgundy and you never even declared war on France or Spain.

Anyways thanks for your help, if I ever write an AAR I wil mention it.:D

Excellent, truly we can prosper together in Eastern Europe.

we want you to play bad too. A bohemia would be so good for this game

Second that, we badly need some kind of "joker" in the middle of Europe.

Indeed; personally I would very much like to see Bohemia stretching north-west to the Channel, south to the Adriatic, and north to, well, actually, the current northern border suits me fine. But you can go east if you like. :D

By the way, RP, although we may be 'nearly' the same in total manpower - I do think that a 20% imbalance is stretching the definition a little - it sure as hell didn't feel like I was fighting on equal terms. Remember that Norway, being on the outskirts of Europe, gets techs really slowly; on top of that, the armies you could mobilise from your core areas were way bigger and much closer than what I could call up from all over the Baltic. I definitely felt that I was out of my weight class, trying to hold off someone with a much heavier punch.

What saved me was, first, the intervention of my brave allies in the south - and the absence of Poland, to be sure - and, second, the very slowness of my forces to get to the Scwerpunkt. We were both being rather stupid about attrition; but you, with your ease of mobilisation, managed to be stupid with most of your armies. My stupidity, on the other hand, arrived in waves and wasn't wiped out all at once. :D Even so, I do think you could have dealt with me one on one. Which, of course, is why I was careful to make sure I had some allies before even dreaming of standing up to you over that inheritance. I was frankly sweating quite hard when Italy decided to intervene; fortunate for me that only 40k troops actually arrived at the front, however many may have set out from Italy. And in waves, at that, not in a single mass.

If it comes to it, though, the Italians were the only ones who managed to complete a siege against me. They only held Plauen for a few weeks, since your front was by then collapsing and I could send reinforcements south; but even so, that's better than you managed in Lubeck or Mecklenburg. :)

I would like to join in on this. If theres anything left to play assuming all the kingdoms are taken. I read all the rules and think this would be a awesome new exprience especially since I love CK.

Hi Cyrus, I'm sure I speak for all of us when I say welcome!

There are at this time two Kingdoms that do not have a human player; they are Bohemia and Jerusalem. Bohemia is spoken for, as King Josiah wishes to play it; however, if he cannot get his router issues fixed - well, we are all very pragmatic here. If the truth were told, though, I think Jerusalem is in the better position, gameplay-wise. And though it is not as central to the action as Bohemia, it might well add some interest to the Mediterranean scene, not to mention the Middle East, where, frankly, Powers having no business in the area dominate.

If that does not appeal, you could perhaps consider a Russian Duchy under either Poland or Hungary. While the territory is not exactly up for grabs, there is certainly room for a major Power in that area if you can only get out from under the muscular thumb of your overlord. And I would certainly be happy to support you against Poland; Poland would no doubt be glad to see Hungary's power shortened a little, as would Byz; Hungary might well want a medium-sized Russia in place of the huge Poland that now dominates the northern steppes; Bohemia, if played, would certainly be happy with an ally on the other side of their enemies, and might also support you against me, should you desire some territory in the north... No end of intrigues, in short. If you go for this option, though, be prepared for a lot of diplomacy; there is certainly no duchy that can stand unaided against its overlord. Really, you could use an extra hundred years for this approach.

I do think Jerusalem is your best bet. And I would be happy to discuss the fate of the Med with you, after Italy's recent and dastardly support of the Burgundian land-grab, happily foiled by my superb troops and inspired leadership. :D

Id love to play Jerusalem its one of my favorite aside from persia...hence my name... but yeah I can definently do Jerusalem. Now about the router thing I havent played a game Online yet and dont know if theres something I need to do in order to play but Im going to right now look around the forums for something I saw like that probably here on the Multiplayer forum. Maybe you could help me with that? And just throwing this out there but show me what its like to play online? If not thats totally cool but I have a lot of free time lately and have been playing alot more CK and I just can't get enough of making new Realms all the time.

Well, my ICQ isn't working right now, but I'll log on to Vnet and check for you every so often. If I'm in there but don't answer, I'm probably paying attention to something else - just wait a minute or so.

Ack! My modem chose the best possible moment to crap out on me. Talking to my ISP now. Hope I can get it fixed, it seems ok now but kinda unstable.

Just to reinterate, I will be out of town for Thanksgiving (family guilted me into it since I haven't visited for almost 2 years) and will be unable to play.

It is uncertain if I can make this weekend. My scoutgroup will be holding a bazaar this weekend, and we build it on saturday.

But I should be able to join up later on.
