A sixth member of the R class battleships (HMS Resistance, I believe) was ordered but cancelled shortly after the outbreak of war because the British, like so many other countries, thought the war would be over "by Christmas".

Renown, Repulse and the light battlecruisers Glorious, Courageous and Furious were not ordered until Fisher came back to the Admiralty in the early stages of the war and were part of his (let's be charitable) unconventional Baltic Plan.

Actually, the R-class was originally planned as seven, and then as eight, since Renown and Repulse would have been R-class battleships if not for Fisher. The first six R-class were under the 1913 programme, and the last two were going to be under the 1914 programme, which became the Emergency War Programme. Of course, Resistance was scrapped, Ramillies delayed, the ship named Renown was renamed Revenge, and the 1914 programme ships were completely redesigned. What you could do is have a sixth R-class being built, and move the Ramillies completion date up, with them both being completed about the same time as their sisters. You could also have a seventh and eighth R-class being built with a full time left to go, and let the players decide whether or not to cancel them. It would be an accurate description of the situation in 1914.

The Italian Army, when they entered the war on the side of the allies in 1915, had a total force of 25 Infantry divisions and 4 cavalry divisions, with very few heavy guns and machine guns. I will keep looking.

After being smacked around they had another offensive in 1918 with a total of 67 divisions.

Comments: unfortunately I don't know the proper names of the squadrons and fleets in German, so I've left them in English - shouldn't be too hard to edit if someone knows the proper designations.

Ship classes are as agreed in the units thread - except that I've put "battlecruiser" as a separate unit type for now: I'm guessing it will end up as a battleship with edited stats. Otherwise, type 0 is pre-dreadnought/old cruiser/torpedo boat, type 1 is the basic dreadnought/light cruiser/TBD, and type 2 is the super-dreadnought/armoured cruiser/destroyer.
