Three hands-off 1936 games so far... in all, Japan allies with Shanxi Clique and no Sino-Japanese War breaks out... is it just me? Smells like a bug. Seems related to the Chinese Civil War, because the day after the Nationalists and Communists "made promises and hedged bets" Shanxi joined Japan's alliance.

Edit: ...so, as I said, there's no Sino-Japanese War. As soon as Germany declared war on the USSR, neutral, at-peace Guangxi Clique and neutral, at-peace Communist China declared war on Germany. Strrrannnge. Never seen that before. Anyone else?

Edit: Gosh. Supreme AI changes! The British steadily worked at the Italians in North Africa while launching small raids into northern Italy from the coast... meanwhile, the US landed in North Africa and actually fought! Then they landed in Sicily! I love you guys!

Edit: Once a nation has been reduced to 0 IC, they cannot ever seem to rebuild anything... can this be addressed?

Edit: Wow. Just watched a 1936 game come to conclusion... look at this! :)

I am very, very impressed with the improvements made to the AI in this beta patch... I haven't seen a 1936 game end this way in... well, ever!

Also, I'm using SMEP, and the partition events for Europe fired flawlessly with NO crashes! Poor USSR only got Poland as a puppet... the rest of Europe is allied :) Kudos, gents!

Edit: HEY! I see you guys moved the names of countries out of world_names.csv and Boostertext.csv... but where did you move them to? I can't locate them...

Edit: A searched turned them up in doomsdaytext.csv, tempfile.tmp and tempfile.2.tmp... what will the final location be? I'm asking for modder's purposes, of course.

One of the additions to AoD in 1.05 is that the AI makes infra, how can I edit where the AI builds infra? How can I edit retooling via an event?
 
Is it WAD that the price for infrastructure is doubled? (No matter what it should be in the change log)

Convoy escort

Playing CAN in GC36

I did not build any convoy escort.
When war start, convoy escort display on trade screen becomes negative (-6).
Is it wad to say "we need 6 escorts">?

And now, its much more, guess its a bug.
I have a saved game if wanted.

Please check event_commands.txt it contains data on all the new events.

I notice that there's nothing about nuclear reactors in those patch notes, which is a little troubling. A few months ago, I posted in the Bug Reports forum about how the functionality of nuclear reactors to increase A-Bomb production and decrease research time for the two nuke-related tech icons (nuclear engineering and nuclear physics, I think) was seemingly broken (thread here: http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?t=485546 ). While it does fall under the category of a minor bug, I do look forward to seeing it fixed (if not in this patch, then perhaps 1.06). Believe it or not, I love playing with nukes so much I've gone back to Armageddon (spurning all of AoD's lovely improvements!) just so I could glass over a continent or two.

Both research and nuclear production work.
However speed on production is a bit slow on dropping with reactors, will change for 105.
 
Attrition

Did you reduce attrition in desertic area?

Because my troops are loosing between 2 and 3% by week...

And a remark: when I switch a previous leader to a new one with logistic wizard skill, the attrition effect is shown immediatly in the help pop up even if the leader will arrive later. WAD?
I dont know if attrition calculation is really delayed or not...
 
Synthetic material plant description

It is said, on the production screen, that it transforms oil into rare.
When I look at ressources flows, I see that it transforms oil & metal into rare.

Can you adjust of them?

There should be synthetic material output slider in your production tab to controll the conversion of oil and rares.

Edit: as nice as the new patch is could you please document it properly if there are some new brigades added? It would save alot of trouble modding-wise so you don't need to find out only after plethora of string errors that there's actually something new added? :)

Playing GC36
I reloaded game in '41 from AI sides:
- JAP, 0 manpower, 0 cash, 0 oil
Well they really have problems!

- ITA, 0 manpower, mainland totally undefended

When I reload game from AI perspective, civil expense is always, in my opinion, too high. Is there a reason for that?
 
Playing the Netherlands, GC 1936.

I have found two bugs.

1) On the Statistics - Compare losses: I see astronomical numbers for losses of convoys and escorts for Nationalist China, something is wrong there. Alan_le_cowboy reprted somthing similar a few posts up.

2) CTD at 2 may 1940. Every time! Can't get past that date!

Some more observations on the same game I included as an attachment in my earlier post. The date is may 1940:

1) Japan has 0 manpower left after 3 years of hard fighting in China. They are in trouble. They lost 500.000 men so far. They also lost 3365 bombers.

2) Poland fell in september 1939 in 3 weeks

3) France keeps 11 divisions in North Africa as garrisons. Isn't that a bit too much?

4) Italy annexed Ethiopia in february 1937. Took them a full year.

5) The SCW started as normal. Nationalist had very few provinces (mostly isolated and surrounded by the Reps. They were cornered in Northern Spain within a fewweeks with only 4 IC. After that noting happened. Nats and Reps have been staring at each other for 3 years now.
