Minor countries AI

Two notes:

- GC36 - '40; south africa did not build any ground troop; only infra, factories and some tacs

- GC36 - '40 ; i looked at Nepal - they focus on machine tools; but because of high attrition now in AoD, I suggest that minor countries search fast at least first logistical tech to reduce attritiion ; there rear area was still not searched
 
Posting savegame of mine. Only thing that was used was my own minimod found in my signature. Roughly between 20th of November and 20th of December the issue initially pops up and while using the action menu (next to division commander's mugshot) I was able to give some basic orders but after 7th of March even that resulted into CTD.

However, for the sake of it I reverted back to 1.05 vanilla and loaded up 1941 scenario and it had the same issue, dates and everything are messed up and after certain point giving any sort of order results into CTD. I got as far as July 17th 1941 before the CTD occurred, and once again that test was done without any 3rd party modifications.

Second GC where ITA has zero manpower at beginning of war period.
Many troops in desert were at 50% of Strenght and ITA was unable to reinforce them.

Its may be because of attrition, ITA has many troops placed in desert well before war starts.

Guess tweak is needed somewhere.

hi there, just wondering since I had the same error message as you with numerous CTDs ... I realized what might have gone wrong with my game.

Someone very early wrote it is best to install the game, install 104RC4 and then the new 1.05 on top of that. Now this might have caused some problems since the check-sum was off (VBR0 instead of NEQ0). started a new game but only progressed to 1937 so far.

How do I edit when the AI uses victory or valhalla and scorched earth?

Hi I stalled first the 104RC4 then I stalled the second newest patch later on I went to the newest beta. IL keep that in mind.

Even with this latest fix, mine continues to get frozen @ province initialization. :confused::mad:
 
Running a handsoff game with "nofog" on.

Counters sometimes change their appearance (e.g. Italian appear as Spanish, Spanish appear as German etc.). This lasts some weeks/months and then reverts.

Loaded up as Italy and, ehm... yes :eek:o .

Anyway, isn't it a bit odd to lend so many exp. forces to an ally?

ai minors build infra but not in the best place such as the capitol (Poland and Austria first try to get 100% everywhere instead of building in the capitol where the biggest gain could be made.)

still CTDs occurring

This is probably not entirely the correct place to mention this, but did you set up the 1938-scenario as it is ment to be, or was that just a speed-setup? I ask because I loaded up the USA in 1938 (playing mp vs Germany) and I have to say - the US hasn't done shit between 1.jan 1936 and 1.sep 1938. Well, they have a couple of planes and ships added, but the Intervention-slider is still all the way to Isolationism, and there seems to be NO research whatsoever being done. Only a couple of techs in Industry have been researched. In Nuclear Research they're actually one tech BEHIND in 1938, compared to 1936.

This is no biggie, we just wanted to try a mp-game and try the 38-scenario. I usually always play 1936.

I'd also like to say - while there still are bugs needed to be fixed - the work you've done on the AI (especially the allies it seems) is just ... well, I don't know what to say. I'm really impressed!

Freezing at province initialization is usually due to a need to regenerate the naval distribution table, which happens any time the ports are changed. If you're using my mod, which I suspect you are, then you need to reinstall my mod over the patch, paying close attention to the misc.txt file--do not overwrite that file but append my research section. Better yet, get my 0.16 Cold War for AOD and follow instructions included.
