Hi everyone! Before we start our holiday break, we have a quick hotfix for you resolving a few issues introduced in patch 1.1.6f1.

Please note that the Hotfix is only live on Steam and we are currently waiting to pass certification on Microsoft Store. The hotfix will be live on Microsoft Store soon after we pass certification and we will be sure to keep you posted. This would also allow us some extra time to look into any issues that may come up before the summer break.

We’ll be back in the office on the 5th of August and continue investigating the bug reports we have received, including the issue with homelessness and crime.

Remember: A new patch can cause compatibility issues with mods. If you have issues, please disable mods and wait for them to be updated by modders. See this thread for more information.

Gameplay Fixes

  • Made improvements so Post Offices can now receive varying load sizes of mail. Additionally, delivery vans can transport mail.
  • Adjusted utility consumption, capacity, construction cost, and upkeep of Post Office 02 and its upgrade.
  • Fixed missing icon for Radio Mast Wireless Network Antenna upgrade.

As we had a few patches in quick succession I’ll leave a link to the previous two patch notes. I recommend taking a look if you missed them as they include some major changes.

no fix to the homeless park bug unfortunately. hopefully it will be fixed soon after the holidays! it makes the game completely unplayable in my case. :(
It might just be the most realistic bug I've seen, as 90% of all parks in my city (irl city) look like this now...although irl they use mostly tarps. Only the rich (or more 'daring') homeless have the tents like they do in game.

It also kinda makes me want to finally try out the San Francisco map.

Yes, the Small Post Office is now working as it should. ^^
Are you sure? I loaded my city with the patch - no post trucks are on the road. If I remember correctly, there was an issue if a freight harbour is also in the city, is this still present? The post sorting station is simply there, but it does nothing (except for taking money away).
And since 1.1.5f1 I've the impression that also garbage trucks don't collect at each place anymore.... is anyone experiencing the same?

How long does certification takes usually?

May I inquire how exactly you work around it? This is the only real issue I have and if there's a workaround I would like to hear it.
Reading on another thread, one workaround may be to delete all your parks and unoccupied homes. Quite impractical.

There is quite a bit of zoning and detailing I could do in pause in my current build, but that would only take me so far.

The homelessness (and crime) issues don't catch up with you until middle to late game, so you could just start another build. I'm not seriously suggesting that, though.

I sympathize with your feelings. I'm a teacher also on summer break, so I do look forward to going full bore on CS during June and July. I have one build to which I'm terribly attached, so it's frustrating--but I'd also much prefer a fix that works. I'm just going to let it chill until a fix is released.

Personally, I'm not getting fixated on this. The game is steadily improving, and I'm convinced it will continue to do so.

There are other ways to enjoy this game. I may make a couple maps in the meantime. There is also a flat interchange test map to practice building interchanges on.

Thank you very much! Which post office is Post Office 02? The in-game name would be more useful! :) I noticed that patch notes sometimes give the internal ID instead of the name, which seems odd to me since people who don't mod would have no idea what the IDs are.

Also, just curious. Why does every patch version number end with "f1"?

When you back from holidays please take care of the issue with parks only being used by homeless and not by wealthy citizens. Have good holidays!

Good catch, I've fixed the patch notes to clarify that we're talking about the Small Post Office added in patch 1.1.6f1.
