@co_avanya why just create a trello to keep the user informed just like highrise city has done it? https://trello.com/b/TwsLjfF7/hrc-road-map

Wie surly love CS2, at least I do, but we all want to know what comes next. I would love to see real open communication for CO / paradox.
Don’t keep us out. We want to be a part of it :)
They have their own system of bug tracking they use, and that included the bugs report subforum we have here.

The problem is that a lot of people, including me, were really looking forward to this title. Shortly before the release, I reduced my expectations a bit when it became really known that there could/will be performance problems and I thought to myself, okay, if at least the gameplay, mechanics and simulations themselves work as they should, then it won't be half as bad. But then I was really wrong. I can live with the fact that you just have to optimize it yourself here and there so that it runs halfway decently. The biggest problem, however, is realizing after a few hours of play that this game is not nearly finished in certain important things (e.g. economic simulation, poorly placed water sources that limit terraforming to a considerable extent, etc.), there is a lack of content and game crashes comes. If you approach the matter realistically, you can say that this game is at most Early Access level and at full price. In that situation, it became clear to me why, for example, the console release was postponed, because in that situation Sony and Microsoft would never have released it for their consoles.
It's not all bad about the game, but you can tell that it just feels like the developers didn't have enough time or there were communication problems. You just have to understand the customers that they are angry or disappointed because the game was released on the market. You should have simply postponed the PC release a bit, then you wouldn't have the problems that you have now and the stress in terms of troubleshooting, optimization, mod support tools, etc. that Paradox will face in the next few weeks and months . For me, and perhaps for many others, it's simply the biggest disappointment of the year when it comes to gaming.
Diablo 4 will always be the biggest disappointment of the year.

But yeah my expectations of where CS2 is at and the work needed to get the game where I thought it was going to be, even at launch, is a huge step.
Although I have no doubt that the game will improve drastically over time, I am now not certain that it is the successor we were all hoping for

Reactions:
1. How come do we get tweets from citizens about bad city services, health, police, sewage? When everything is Green and placed correctly.
2. Would be nice to see building rise up while being built instead of just remaining as a crane for a few minutes and then jumps to a complete building.

Otherwise, thank you Paradox for Cities 2 :)

In addition to the performance problems, please don't lose sight of the problems with the game itself and provide a quick update here:

- The economic system does not work as has often been described on the Internet
- constant complaints about rents being too high
- despite there being enough landfills, rubbish is often not picked up
- we absolutely need quay walls and promenades for the coasts and harbors, just a temporary quay wall with a road isn't really pretty or useful...
- why are there no more buildings or functions to unlock after half the milestones, that's what we were always looking forward to, but then I was very disappointed :-(

These features would be great:

- please give us a pipette as a copy function for buildings or props/assets
- An UNDO button would be extremely useful, especially if you have used it while terraforming

And of all the service buildings (police, hospital, fire brigade), train stations and airports, cemeteries (churches????) and small building developments for suburbs would be particularly important. How are small towns supposed to be connected to the network now that train stations are far too big...

When the region packs come, how are you supposed to be able to search, sort and filter the over 2,000 parts clearly in the game? Will there be something like FIND IT/RICO?

well that was a little underwhelming lol. A long wait for the hotfix to drop in the MS store, and honestly I don't see much difference. Maybe a few fps more, but it also seems like there's more stuttering (hard to tell for sure though). Anyway, as one of the folks playing with underspec'd machines (1650), I'm just glad it's working at all. I'm gettnig low 30's fps with 15k pop with the global graphics setting on it's lowest. Honestly, I can't really get into my build until I've got TM:pE and Anarchy. the roadways are just too frustrating right now with no way to control traffic or pedestrians.

Well at least I have upgraded from BSOD after 5 minutes, to automatic PC reset after about 15 minutes.

Also how are you all getting FPS? My Nvidia Shadowplay thing doesn't show FPS for some reason. Could it be due to playing in Windowed Fullscreen?

Hi everyone.

Today we have the first of several patches to improve performance in Cities: Skylines II. While this does not address all issues we are aware of, we wanted to get you these improvements as soon as possible.

This patch includes the following improvements and fixes:

  • Changed LOD to be independent of rendering resolution to get more consistent performance with high resolutions
  • Minor optimization with fog
  • Depth of field optimizations and tweaks
  • Global illumination tweaks
  • Optimized stutters when buildings spawn/level up
  • Optimized various stutters across all systems
  • Fixed crash after upgrading wind turbine
  • Fixed crash when car crashes into still hidden car with trailer
  • Fixed crash with mesh loading (that happens with low settings mostly)

Please make sure to report any crashes or bugs on our support forum here: https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/forums/cities-skylines-2-bug-reports.1162/

Our team is working hard on getting the next round of fixes and improvements out as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience!

Update 1st of November
The patch is now live on the Microsoft Store & Game Pass as well and includes a fix for the pre-order and San Fransisco Set not unlocking correctly.
Hey CO and Paradox, Thanks for the update. I'm really glad that you are rolling these updates out however I've seen no performance improvement and now my city is at 40,000 people. It is now unplayable and is not a fun experience. I'm glad your trying however are we going to have a big difference in performance or am I gonna have to wait for the Console version so I can play lag free?

Agree with everyone here, It would be really great to get some sorta info on the MS Store/Game Pass version. I wouldn't mind even if they told us that it's gonna take another week. At least knowing what's going on is better than not. And besides, Game Pass has been around for quite a while now and there's hundreds of games, Microsoft's gotta have some guidelines for how pushing updates works and how long it takes...
Fully agree! Transparency on the MS Store/Game Pass version would be appreciated. Even a timeline estimate would ease anticipation.
