That russian mod increased performance by 30% just messing with the jobs so I suppose the main problem is the job mechanics being grossly onoptimized.
Didnt that Russian mod increase performacne by eliminating calculations? The fastest way to compute something is not to do it.

I agree that the job mechanics and performance are poorly implemented. Neat ideas, but they dont' scale well into a game of Stellaris.

theres no point in arguing neither side is capable of listening. optimizing code is wasted time for devs as better code doesnt make more money expansions do.
the fanboys will never care about a good game they live to worship the studio no matter what they do to harass the users. you can see the extreme examples of lootboxes in ea games and CA releasing a broken rome2. fanboys are braindead. no game ever runs really well on all cpus devs arent great at coding they just do the bare minimum to get their vision of how things should be. games arent art anymore. its deadlines, compromises, greedy executives, stockholders, vacations, sickdays, office drama, burnout.

I guess it's time to not be contained to the Designated Protest Zone any more.
Yeah protesting doesn't interest me. If they have an area for people to comment about performance that's fine (frankly as a non technical person my thoughts don't matter much). But it's pointless for every one if this is just a quarantine area.

Ok then. It's time to abandon this game studio and search for one that would care. The scepter of 4x space strategy has to be passed on:
First there was MOO, then it was Stellaris and in the future an indie studio will probably take the lead, because AAA say F**** Y*** to their customers.

At least it helped to pinpoint the part of the problem.

No it didn't. It confirmed what had already been discovered. And was nothing more than one modder having a tantrum.

Exactly. It's s***, and not a solution.

Maybe you won't, but look around you. There's plenty in this thread who already have bought it.

This is precisely the road I intend to take. I liked Stellaris but I don't like it anywhere near enough to support Paradox.

Well everyone has their own standards I guess. For me, unless this is fixed and PDX does proper QA, this is it. I can't stop fools giving away their money, perhaps they don't care or are too rich and in any case I'm not participating in circlejerk communities. There are worse game studios with bigger communities than this, but for me it's not about the numbers or the sales, it's about my time and money adding quality to my life - if I can't find it here, i'll move elsewhere.

This is exactly how it looks when the PC market races to the bottom.

I guess you are right, i stayed with 2.3 + alphamod

Agreed. I bought Lithoids for the sole purpose of being able to compile a bunch of missing/broken stuff for other players to know, but that's it. I'm not spending another cent until the game is fixed.

And I mean:

Performance
AI
Event-Empires
Flavor
Balance

all of it. I've been able to overlook it all for a while but enough is enough.

I don't really have many performance issues. However, the sheer variety of minor-to-moderate bugs and omissions means that, while I am still happily playing Stellaris (since I like its mechanics and flavor), I am not planning to buy Federations unless there's a drive to fix them.

I just don't understand why it's so slow, I thought killing some ai empire might help, but I believe the sheer amount of planets is a big problem. I have an i-9700k, but a normal day takes about 5s. I have the tiny outliner v2 mod running and some minor simple changes, that shouldn't effect the performance. In the save game there are about 700 planets colonized in sum

Also only one core is really used

I'll buy Federations, certainly because I'm a dipshit but I'm still hopeful...

If the game continues to be in this poor state after it, I will not invest more money in it unless they have the brillant idea to fix it...

It's my most played game on steam and it saddens me to do so...
