1) Is there any downside to deleting all my troops during peace?
Since I'm a minor without and risk of invasion, as I'm messing with industrialisation and ideology swapping.
I though it would stop equipment from damaging and thereby increase my overall amount of inf and support equipment, but seems kinda gamey to just wipe your armed forces.

2) If i went into a civil war with no units would that mean both sides would have no forces then i could use my stores to build some quick divisions by instantly deploying, thereby giving me an open front to attack the other side? Since i'd assume the AI doesn't instantly deploy as soon as the training reaches 20%.

What does the number above the infrastructure icon indicate? I though it was incoming supply, but that doesn't seem to check out.

Anyone?

How come sometimes I put my men on a frontline and they don't spread out at all?

E.g., make a 4-province-wide front-line, and my 18 divisions all stay clumped in one province instead of spreading out along the line?

Sometimes manually moving them unsticks it (they auto move to spread out after the manual move), but sometimes it doesn't (they stay clumped wherever I put them).

I'd show a screenshot but steam doesn't seem to want to take one in hoi4, and whatever button does it in-game (I hit F10, F11, and F12), it said it saved one but I can't find where it saved it to (not the steam screenshot, seemed to be an HOI4 screenshot feature).

I think it's a bug. I've seen the same thing, though usually at a larger scale -- bigger front line, field marshal commanding 60 troops... oh and look, there are 16 hanging out together in the least strategically important province while 2 guys get stomped right out side of a major city! I'm guessing it's a case of "AI freeze" and dropping to menu and reloading occasionally fixes it.

1) You'll have to train all those troops back up from scratch. If you deploy as fast as you can, it still will be non-zero time AND they'll come out with nearly no experience. You also look awful juicy to anyone in the region that might covet your land.

You probably forgot to assign any troops to that particular frontline. You can assign any units of a certain army to a specific task by marking them (hold shift to select several) and then press CTRL+Left Mouse on the order, in your case the frontline. In case you want to assign the entire unit to an order, best press the select-all button in the tab left and then do CTRL+Left mouse on the order. Its a little odd, if you add new troops to an army with a frontline that new units don't do anything on their own because you specifically have to advise them to get on the front first.

Nope, definitely assigned them to the frontline. Triple checked.
Deleted order & re-issued with all selected, still don't spread out.
Manually assigned to order after selecting all, still don't spread out.
Etc.

Didn't try reloading the game, will see if they spread out when I load that save tonight.

Actually, when drawing the second offensive line, you can press tab to start the offensive line from a different point.
Awesome, thanks!

I'm not sure if you're having the same problem as me, but this happened on a game as Italy as I was preparing to backstab Germany. Assigned troops to the German border, created an offensive, and they all clump in one province. After I left the Axis, I reordered them to the offensive and they spread out. In that case I think it was some weird ally AI thing, they didn't do what I wanted because it was allied territory.

Also had this happen against neutral countries, but more rarely. Not sure what the deal is.

How to check whose planes are performing air missions in given region? I can find their numbers - but how to check if this are British or Soviet bombers?

Thanks is advance.

Definitely not allied thing. It's just an AI bug of some sort. I had it happen in active combat with Germany as Poland. 14 of 60 guys hung out in one place, another 12 of 40 were playing around in another place.

I cannot find a stockpile of resources. Is this only available for weaponry? If stockpiling is not available for resources there should be a quick trade button to just get what you need so you don't waste Civilian Factories. It would be nice to be able to stockpile resources, especially if your trade partner is in another faction.

Inorder to get the bonuses, does the tank/ship/aircraft designer need to be hired when before research is started, or is it okay to hire them before ongoing research is completed?

Hi guys, two quick questions. Apologies, I couldn't find the answers here or on the wiki.

Question the first - does equipment that you send to another country as lend lease ever get sent back to you, or is it gone forever?

Question the second - what does the yellow & black hashing mean in this screenshot of an air wing?

Not sure on the first, but I never send anything that I want to get back anyhow.

On the second, that means that the airwing is currently assigned a mission area that it cannot fully cover, and is thus operating at lower efficiency (if the yellow were red, the coverage would be even worse).
