I have realised that I had several grandchildren born, all in my court, yet I didn't receive any notification of it. Is there a way to change the message settings?

I also hate the fact that you can’t NAME grandchildren even if they are born to your child in your court. No way to change it AFAIK, it will probably be updated later.

I keep losing the Dynasty Head and House Head titles upon death. Even though I have the largest realm in my dynasty and the largest army. And guess who becomes the new head? A vassal of mine who belongs to my dynasty even though he is much smaller and weaker than me. Why?!?!

I am using Tanistry succession, if that helps.

It's because the house head title isn't inheriting with your primary title because of the tanistry succession law. The house head title goes to your children, not the primary title holder. The dynasty head is just the house head with the most soldiers in the dynasty.

But the new house head is not a child of my previous ruler. EDIT: I will double check this when I fire up the game again. But the new elected ruler was a child of the previous ruler so I see no reason why he shouldn't be the new head.

And I believe the new House Head is always supposed to be the primary heir of the previous head.

"House leadership follows the succession of the House Head, so that if you’re the leader of your House you will most likely keep that title on succession."

It sounds a bit contradictory, but the "most likely" seems to indicate that there are exceptions. No information in there on what they might be, though. :(

What is the reason for this? No claims to press, and declare war button is greyed out, saying this interaction is no longer valid. What's going on?

Is this because the claim has already been pressed? What does it mean to press the claim and what's the difference between it and unpressed claim?

Pressed claim means this character already fought for the title?

Rather than strong or weak claims, the conditions of when a claim can be used is based on the gender doctrine of the faith you belong to.

Since Catholicism is Male preference, *all* claims of female characters have the same conditions as weak claims in CKII; title holder has to be a child, a woman (or man if we're talking an Enatic faith) or be incapacitated in some way.

As for Pressed vs unpressed, IIRC that simply means if the claim will be inherited or not, with pressed claims becomong unpressed with the next generation and unpressed being pressed, and therefore inheritable, if used for a cassus belli that doesn't end in surrender.

If they have any children, they should also have "implied" claims, which is just a handy way of keeping track of what titles they might be able to press after their parents have an accident.

Pressed means the claim can be inherited, unpressed means it can't. It doesn't affect whether the claim can be used.

In this case your claimant is a woman, and in Male Dominated religions I you can't press a woman's claim against an adult male. The tooltip should ahve made the clear, and I think this is worthy of a bug report. :)

EDIT: It appears that I got ninjad by @Foefaller. :)

It's because you're a catholic. If you go onto the catholic religion page you can mouse over male dominated and see that women claims can't be pushed in some circumstances. This confused me too.

If you want to be called the Roman Empire, fulfill the requirements and take the decision! ;)

Jokes aside, that name is pretty funny. :)

Nah, just start the game as the Roman Empire. Retaking the West is another matter ;)
I don't get it, if you start as the Holy Roman Empire you already have much of the west? :p

I can't seem to move the screen left, right, up, and down while viewing the dynasty tree. I can only zoom in and out to slightly different spots. Its not a problem for a small house, but its causing issues once the dynasty grows a bit. Thanks in advance!

I read someone saying that you need to hold the middle mouse button. :)
