Glad to see the tweaks needed for the Ironborn got in.

If you're referring to the Pirate Invasion CB changes, while this is in general probably in favor for balance, in the case of the Ironborn this only enlarges their problem.
Now they're even more difficult to play (and to us slighlty less experienced pagan players, they may be virtually unplayable), not to mention less fun.

spoilers from the 2nd part of the story below
The Iron Islands have some very huge problems in the Clash of Kings already, as I've written a couple of times. If this means they're no longer be able to declare wars for whole kingdoms, how will this affect the invasion of the North or the Westlands? And how will this affect them in general, since they already have a bit bugged position?

Oh and I don't want to sound grateful; other than that great patch!

I was mainly referring to the fact they made Reaving less disaster-laden that before as well the inclusion/repairing of being able to take Salt wives while reaving.

Before 7.2, the odds against Reavers were stacked too high. I need to play through a few more times, but from what I've played so far Reaving now seems fairer, and more desirable. I think now an Ironborn player is more likely to risk Reaving in order to chase funds, getting a bonus spouse, and perhaps most importantly the Reaver trait, which adds to martial score and vassal approval.

It's not all roses of course; the recent move to make Ironborn holy sites worth 5% instead of 10% makes converting provinces to the one true faith of the west even harder.

As far as Invasions go, I don't have much of a stance on it though.

Finally, do some people a favour and reword what you said about the ACOK stuff, it's spoilerish for TV peeps.

I got a clean install and all I get whenever I start a new game is blank messages that cannot be closed.

And, yes, I know how to install it. I deleted my old folder and cache and suddenly this bug appears.

Has anyone else gotten a CTD with this release? It's probably my computer because it's full of crap right now, but i'd like to make sure it's just me.

A couple of observer games I ran began to CTD a few decades in, and after that continued to crash much more persistently.

Done.

As for the invasions, I've written in a nearby thread the huge problems the Iron Islands are currently in.

You think we could get a hotfix for the White Walker issues?

I'd like to continue my game as the ice apocalypse.

There are some issues with the Others that have been resolved for the next version, the main ones are: The capital of d_winter changing all the time, the lands of the wall auto being returned to the NW then being returned to the others and that repeating forever, white walkers being able to get events and finally the white walkers leaving their non winter culture group courtiers alive.

Most issues are fixed and there is likely to be a hotfix.

Independent Ironborn + Slavery = OP combo

I have played them in my last two multiplayer games, (different start dates,) and it's kind of a joke how much money you can pump out through doing Viking style raids to collect slaves. "Bring them to my camp" gives you 5 personal slaves to sell and bumps up the slave camp by one level, (so a minimum of 475 gold.) Factor in what you just took from raiding the province, usually another few hundred gold depending on where you go, and whatever hostages you manage to take for ransom; you end up with a stupid amount of gold. Oh and this is the fastest and safest way to get the Reaver trait too, (you don't even have to lead your raiding army, I never send leaders with mine, so you are never in harms way.) All that gold makes upgrading castles short work and means you can hire all the mercenaries available in times of need. A quick fix to this would be to remove the slavery options from the normal non-event raids.

Another thing that needs looking in to is taking single province just for the castle in that province. Some castles are ridiculously big and provide insane amounts of men. There seems to be no noticeable penalty to holding territories that are not connected to your capital meaning you can just sail around and take places like the capital of Tyrosh for massive gains and with very little consequence. This can quickly put you in an unstoppable position. Levy and garrison sizes need reducing in certain provinces to bring them more in line with other major provinces.

Oh and thanks for the patch! :D

When will we see a hotfix patch for 0.7.2? Deciding whether to start a campaign or not...

Think I found a bug concerning the seasons. Had a winter start in 8317, it's been ongoing all the way to 8333. I've gotten four messages from the citadel saying "winter is ending", but never the accompanying event removing the winter events from provinces. I saw the White Walkers pop up one time as a small 400 man army, and then disappear. Winter is currently harsh in the North, normal in the South and in Essos.

Had another winter earlier in this game, but that only lasted for two years and resolved itself normally.

I really like this version, I have two questions:
1. will the White Walker bugs have a hotfix or be in the next patch?
2. Have you thought about using BLC mod? I would really add to the experience. Thank you

Most of the major issues have been fixed, but it involves a lot of files so it hasn't been decided yet but it is something we are considering.

Hey blackninja, are your various submods working on 7.2? I'm running Bloodlines, More Decisions, Challenge to Duel, and Colonise Valyria on my current game.
Yup they all work and will most likely continue to work in the future with no issues as all but one of the files only adds things to the game as opposed to replace them.
