[Resistance] Game 2 - Down with Werewolf!

The front page says that players vote by PM and the GM reveals who voted and for what, but everyone has posted their vote in the thread. (I haven't voted by PM.)

Having the votes like this will lead to situations where one might wait to vote as he'd know he could vote either way and it wouldn't affect the perception of him as the decision would already be determined. It could also lead to players trying to out-wait each other, and hence delaying the game, to make their then meaningless vote. Those are some reasons why I think future games ought to revert to private voting. (Also, the potential for discrepancy between public statements and private votes would add a bit more complexity.)

It means people can attempt to convince others to change their minds, too. It would not be OK to have a majority vote to accept or reject a team before some players even have a chance to log in and change people's minds.
I don't think having a discrepancy between public and private votes will add much. Also, there is always the option to just ask for a deadline extension, and the option to enforce a decision 24 hours in.

We should try to see how these rules work out before we start making changes again first, imho. I think they'll work fine.

EDIT, by that, I mean, if we announce publicly that we ought to reject team one, just how much can be gained from an analysis of a votes on a proposal that already has a stated opposition? It's like the card I have; were I to use it immediately, how does that help analysis? If I said I will use it, anyone knows his vote is relevant (assuming I follow through and actually use it) and he can vote tactically for appearance's sake instead of what he *really* wants.

You're focusing on the votes themselves too much. What your forget is that if this team is rejected we'll have a new leader, and a new proposal. Something that will hopefully get us information.
And the fact that the resistance appears to be undecided on this matter makes it much more valuable to reject it, in fact, because that uncertainty guarantees us there will be information to be had from this round.

edit: Btw, who *is* the next leader anyway? The updates don't mention it and I'm too lazy to check the front page :p
 
Well, esemesas was supposed to call the shots. But since there hasn't been any activity in a long while, I'll call it:

APPROVE: esemesas, tamius, AVN, Cliges, Xarkan

REJECT: Kingepyon, Cymsdale, randakar

Team is approved and mission is go!

randakar, tamius, esemesas (aka. team no capitals) will try to deliver the booze bribe to jacob-Lundgren (aka. team weird capitals).

I need a PRIVATE vote from you lot and a PUBLIC statement that you voted and are good to go.
 
Falc, can I hold onto the card as long as I want?

No matter what, I am not using it on this team, just to confirm that.

I received 2 Supports and 1 Sabotage, meaning the mission is FAILED!

Some nasty bugger drank all the booze en route to j-L!

Hurt, disappointed, yet undeterred, the Resistance decides to move on to Mission 2: hacking into the Paradox Development servers to delete all traces of the rumoured Werewolf Uprising DLC for Crusader Kings 2, which would have seen a rebellion of werewolf clans in the Transylvanian area.

Leader is tamius23, please propose a 4-man team.

Plot Cards to be handled:
No Confidence – One time use - The player to whom the Leader passes this card may use this card to reject an approved Mission team (successful Vote). Using this card counts as a failed Vote.
Strong Leader – One time use - The player to whom the Leader passes this card may use this card to become the Leader. Use of this card must be declared before Plot Cards are drawn by the GM. When a "Strong Leader" is played, another "Strong Leader" may not be played until a Vote has been taken.
 
I pass the "No Confidence" card to Xarkan.

I pass the "Strong Leader" card to Kingepyon.

I propose a team with myself, esemesas, Cliges and Xarkan.
 
Vote reject that team

One of tamius or esemesas is a spy. I approve of having either cliges or cymsdale, but of those two cymsdale seems the least suspicious, especially as he also voted to reject the previous team.
I would be much more happy with a team that consists of at least some of the people that voted to reject the previous team.

That's stupid and silly. There are three possible spies in the set of tamius, esemesas, and me. You are taking a 50-50 chance with esemesas that he's a spy, at best. And that assumes that you're not one.
I see absolutely no reason to let either of you into the next team.
