Well, the name of my scenario was The Rise of Christianity and the icon is a lot more appropriate for that...
This is the Roman Empire graphics: (No white, of course)

I think we could put some other famous people of time to monarchs or then make up the names ourself.

I suggest that we divide the work into geographical sections...
One would be the Roman Empire... and someone should start making the monarchs and events for them...

And Judas Maccabeus, any progress?

We don't really need to know anything about tech... techs should be adjusted to make the outcome more historical... I'd say it's not important, but we should use the tech-editor... to block level 2 fort and allow assault for earlier levels...

Fantasy names should only be used for truly fantasy monarchs.

Then, how do we solve it?
I agree that you should just go with the "unknown" method. Otherwise, if a fantasy name is employed (John Doe*), that may be misunderstood as that there was no monarch existing at the time.

I think we should use "unknown" method or put other famous people of time as monarchs

How are you handling the Roman emperors? It seems (and it could apply to other empires as well) that you could almost have a continuous set of civil wars with up to say three of four claimants). Would some sort of parrallel monarchs list work for this.

Or should the main empire follow the course of the "published" list with separate revolters list comprised of the historical losers.

You might just call it "Civil War" with really low stats...

It could be events-based like US elections in EUII.

I used INTERREGNUM, but I suppose it doesn't really matter, though my option is more latin that yours... ;)

Agree, at least that is how I made it with Parthia...

I have a problem. As we haven't solved the calendar question yet(i assume we use gregorian calendar= and monarchs start and enddates are at day-level, we can't put exact dates there. This is a proble mas sometimes, like in 69 AD they had four emperors in year.

If you can't find any info, random a month and put the next one after that... simple as that... I've done the same thing...
And sometimes I made the monarchs activated by randomized events (by randomized I mean that they would trigger sometime during the year)...

If you need a hand with something, im right here (Anything but coding and event's making... i suck at editing :D ). Ready to dig up Info, if needed and texts for events.
