I plan two updates a day, once in the morning and once in the afternoon.

Go Nanbu. I agree with the planned strategy however, do not feel too confident that because you have few neighbours any plots will fail.

From what I recall in Dev Diaries, plots can be made with the help of member from within your clan. Right?

Yes they can, but my son likes more because I am his Dad, this reduces his likelyhood to join a plot against me. So providing I am careful about who I hand out conquered land to I can reuce the risks of internal plots while I get myself stronger.

aha, but i've never been a fan of the Uesugi to be honest, so, i might try some of their neighbours and try to pick them off :p

Or start playing as their vassal Nagao and plot to break free just like it happened here. No better feeling than taking them down from the inside... Or try to survive the Uesugi onslaught as Koga-Ashikaga and win the Kanto War. Now there's a challenge...

although since you're a little low on honour that may not be possible...

King is always low on honor! He likes balancing on the game-over knife edge...

Plots instead of alliances. And so many clans in northern Tohoku alone. This looks fascinating.

Is there a time limit as to how often you can bribe, erm, send "gifts" to the emperor for honor, or does it scale with size? If neither, it seems like it might make it too easy for the larger clans - how is it balanced?

There is a time limit until you can do it the next time.

So you killed the osaki and the kasai in quick succession?

Bordering the Uesugi was more or less expected in your expansion. That will be a tough nutt to crack...

It was expected I just hoped I would have been stronger before it happened.

oh..I tought peacefull expansion was possible. But what are the uses of the 'Invite to clan' diplomatic option then?

You can invite vassals of other clans to your clan, but you cannot invite clan leaders to your clan, as they have a clan of their own already. You can force a clan leader to submit to you via a war and then his clan will become a subclan of your superclan.

I really hope that rival clans are constantly trying to form plots against you hopefully along with disgruntled vassals as soon as you start to grow rapidly.

Yes, you really need to both keep an eye on your vassals, as well as clans around you plotting to take you down. And just because you start big doesn't mean you get a head start. Hosokawa for instance start as the biggest clan, but are involved in wars with so many clans that just surviving as them actually becomes a challenge.

so whole japan cares only about yamana... looks like there is a problem with AI.. it will be easy to unite japan it seems.

also why does it say [ Clan Date ] in the tool tip?? wouldn't [ Date Clan ] be more appropriate?

The AI is worried most about the Clan that closest (by some margin) to uniting Japan. This isn't a problem trust me.

Can you make a plot to attack the Toki or Imagawa and invite the Uesugi.
Then a plot to attack the Uesugi and invite the Imagawa / Toki (whoever is not the target of the first plot).
Then start plot 1 and when the Uesugi are at war you backstab them and start plot 2?

I can only have one plot at a time and the declaration of war costs me up to 20 honour ad inviting backers costs me honour as well so it is expensive business. That aöö assuming that the Uesugi would like me enough to try this plot. That is not a given either.
