i know what you mean blxz, and please excuse me as i might be getting side-tracked here.

i for one, am quite fond of strategy games and japanese history, and at the gaming market there just isn't a good number of games that satisfy the western demands of combining both strategy, a degree of sandbox-mode, giving you enough freedom to do what YOU want and japanese culture/era [using this an example since we are at a sengoku game forum, so might as well go with it]. and if there are, it's either too shallow or for japan only.

i have lost my confidence and respect for ALOT of gaming companies because they simply release half-assed games and expect people to buy and be happy about them. and surprise surprise, no one is, so what do they do? stop releasing the DECENT games overseas!

i'm sure i don't need to point any fingers, we have plently of examples, but i have faith in paradox, at least they have set up an easy way for customers to contact them and actually DO reply when you contact them, that alone wins me over.

Yamana were destroyed by the Ouchi player not sure what happened to Hosokawa...they might have been busy fighting the Yamana untill they were both exhausted?

Also, sorry to the people who missed the FB code, but we did have several messages about it on there, and I did post in this thread mentioning the codes had been sent. We didn't post the code on the forum because it was specificially for people who "liked" it on Facebook (thus showing the game to others), making it public to everyone would have defeated the purpose.

Well, I didn't get a single message on it on facebook, but it seems I got a PM that was NOT shown in the interface, so that kind of defeats the purpose. You should send it in the regular inbox the next time, I guess. It's not the end of the world anyways, but it is irritating.;)

Not besides the comments scattered around here and FB, but if we get a good game going this week we may do a better write-up of it.

That would be awesome.:)

I am again sorry that the Facebook pre-order experiment didn't turn out as expected. There were some complications that restricted us from keeping it up for longer than 24h. The fact that the messages seemed to hit your Facebook mailboxes after it went live and without noticing you didn't exactly facilitate. However, we learn from our mistake and will thus manage campaigns like this one better in the future. Soon, the ‘regular’ pre-order will go live. You won’t get a 20% discount but there will be another pre-order bonus. We’ll tell you about it as soon as it goes up.

I hope you can accept my apology on behalf of Paradox and that you are still looking forward to the release of Sengoku.

When will it be show up on steam? I want to preorder it, but don't want to buy a hard disk.

Gamersgate is a online download service, not a disk.

But big ouch on the facebook failed experiment, the whole thing flew by without a single message or pop-up for me (though it said about a message arriving soon in your inbox). Annoying since I was like one of the many others up +like'd and hoped to get the pre-order discount.

I just found the code in my Facebook account and I haven't been noticed I had a new message.

Of course, it's expired...

Well I guess I'll have to wait a few months until Sengoku is discounted again to buy it :(

I didn't see the message either, but there was a post on Sengoku wall page about the code and where you could find it. Did everyone miss that as well?

Dannie: no worries there, mate. :)

No apology needed. It was Steam's fault... I KNOW it was... >:E

Of course we very much are looking forward to this Sengoku game... Only 7 more days!!!!

The problem was not that it lasted for 24h. The problem was that nobody knew about that.
So it's really not someone else's fault and the blame is solely on Paradox here.

If an apology is enough is up to the individual but what exactly hindered you in doing another preorder 24h thing with a proper notice? The fact that the first preorder went haywire doesnt prevent you from doing another one. The fact that you are doing nothing about it is what upsets me the most.
