Awesome.

This is a bonus of 7,500 research points toward the next Fuel Efficiency tech... gained ON TOP of the tech percentage boost that we will receive when we dismantle and reverse-engineer each of the components.

AND a Beam Fire Control to dismantle. His Sarthe gunship outranged us by a ludicrous margin, remember. Was it 600,000 km?

Another five-day turn.

Another polite suggestion from the Bork. Diplo now +56.

Improved Particle Lances! We can upgrade our Winged Hussar design.

This is a VERY minor upgrade to our current weapon. Same damage, same rate of fire. Only the max range is different: 400,000 km instead of 320,000 km.

Definitely need a more advanced airwing but if those fighters aren't ready yet then we fly with what we've got. For some reason, I was under thr impression that out fleet carriers had larger airwings. Are the missiles good enough to help out in the coming planetary assault?

Just came across this thread, and speant the last couple of weeks catching up. Can I just say what an awesome achievment such a thread is? Can't think of many, no, any AARs to go this long and into this much detail. Kudos: we are not worthy.

Long time Aurora player myself (though not C# version yet) so absolutely fantastic to see.
If you like long and insanely details AARs, there uncontested champion of the genre is El Pips The Butterfly Effect!

You say it is only a minor upgrade, but that is 25% difference in range. Imagine against the Sarthes being able to just sit that much further back while beating him with particle lances?

Ok, it might only be a minor upgrade in Emotion dominated battles, but I can see situations where it would make sense to dictate range to suit the Hussars and just accept the slow rate of fire.

Am I still sneaking around in the dark with too much time to think?

The first squadron of Partystarters is ready!

sc-3183.jpg

The Partystarter CMD is able to Squadron Jump with up to seven companion ships (as long as none of them mass more than 500 tons), thus ensuring that

1) Jump shock (for all eight ships, rolled individually) only lasts 11-30 seconds instead of 2-3 minutes, and

2) the squadron of eight ships lands all together in a random direction and location up to 1.5 million km from the jump point.

So... one Partystarter CMD plus seven Partystarter BLs makes up a jump squadron. All together they carry 47 missiles and 16 decoys. All are ECM-6.

The squadron in total takes up one-half of a Constellation class Carrier's hangar, or one-third of a Mountain class Tender's hangar.

Maybe the Orion will volunteer to take them for a spin :)

You are currently enjoying shore leave on the frigid and somewhat radioactive planet of Harmony.

Our Constellation class Carriers each hold 8,000 tons of aircraft.

Fighters have to be 500 tons or less (and really small ones might be as tiny as 125 tons)... so that would be from 16 to 64 aircraft per carrier.

Our X-Wing Fighters are averaging around 250 to 300 tons each. Somewhere around 25 to 30 per squadron.

Your missiles are modern. High speed, ECCM, active terminal guidance.

We didn't get any fuel.efgiciency components, though.
How big a percentage of the next tech level dod those RP represent?

With fuel.efficiency tech it allows us either longer range or faster ships due to being able to supercharge engines more?

Are the missiles good enough to help out in the coming planetary assault?
We don't want to use missiles. That'll just wreck the planet like the rhakkas.

It legit has taken over 19 years to play to 1937?

We didn't get any fuel.efgiciency components, though. - The chance of a tech bonus is seperate from the rolls for intact components. There is also a chance for learning the enemy tech level (eg: "Evidence of Fuel Efficiency -80% found in Wreck").
How big a percentage of the next tech level dod those RP represent? - 3%

With fuel.efficiency tech it allows us either longer range or faster ships due to being able to supercharge engines more? - Increasing our fuel efficiency by one step will increase our range by +50%.

It has legit taken over 19 years to write the AAR… if you are into obscure corners of history it is really rather fun.
I read the first page... very INTERESTING!
I read the most recent (I can't say last as it is definitely ongoing) page: very _DETAILED_ !
I recognized that it is actually moving SLOWER THAN REAL TIME! sorry, not reading the rest :)

That is fair enough. It is a bit of a mammoth epic, with digressions from the digressions about the digressions.

Ah, so we can outright learn the tech itself?
What's the chance of that happening? I presume very small.

Not from wrecks.

When you find an installation in a ruin... a research lab, or an auto-mine, for example... there's a very small chance of a free tech.

To make this clear "evidence of engine tech level" does not mean the tech itself. Instead it's intelligence on what tech level was used to build the ship or component.

And this was a salvage, not an intact ship, was it?
No engines so far :(

But a reactor .. that one counts!
