This is a modern Infantry Division:

View attachment 1297030

Sixteen Light Infantry Battalions, supported by sixteen Medium Artillery Batteries. The troops themselves are light on armor and heavy on firepower, in order to pack as much punch as possible into each ton of ground troops. With our thin armor we'll probably take lots of losses... but since the enemy has better Laser tech and probably better armor tech, we would have been taking serious losses anyway. At least this way we'll hurt him badly, too.

We will also have 2011-model (ie: 20-year-old) Tank Divisions and Heavy Infantry Divisions available for the assault.
Ah yes, the "we're not sending you with armor because the armor will at best mildly inconvenience their weapons, so instead, have a bigger gun" strategy. I'm now imagining all of our troops in loincloths with the BFG from Doom.

BFG?
Now, it's been like 25 years since I played Doom and Doom 2, but I don't recall a gun called BFG. How did it look?

Wagon, they got this new fangled invention. They call it "Google". Try it out sometime

BFG

Another polite suggestion from the Bork. Diplo +109.4

Just the usual builds. Infantry, Artillery, Partystarters, more Fighter factories.

Half of the PD fleet finishes overhaul.

We will need up to ten names for the first tranche of Rodent class drop ships.

ESN Killer Rabbit and ESN Enraged Gerbil spring to mind.

Squirrels, Beavers, Capybaras, Rabbits, Mice, Moles and Rats are all Rodents.

Flying Tree Rat (= squirrel in space). :p Mad Marmot. I can’t think of colorful adjectives atm.

Porcupines are also rodents. Prickly Porcupine is standard, and I’m too tired to think of a better name. Maybe someone else will be inspired. :)

Edit: oh. The mouse one has to be Dangermouse, doesn’t it?

Energizer Bunny. :p

Argh. I’m coming up with silly names. Mighty Mouse! :D

Thesaurus it is. Brutal Beaver. Raging Rat (Ruthless?). Spiteful Squirrel. :p (Could be Savage, or Sadistic). Malicious Mole (or Malevolent). Cruel Capybara (or Crazy). Bloodthirsty Bunny. Ghoulish Agouti. Hateful Hare. (Edit: Rabbits aren’t rodents, though, if you’re trying to keep this rodents-only.)

Need a rodent species that starts with ‘F’ —Ferocious/Fiendish F____.

Enormouse?
Enormouse is good!

More alliterations. Vicious Viscacha. (Oh, hey, or Vicious Vole; forgot about them.) Pitiless Paca. Heinous Hutia. Churlish Chipmunk. :D Dyspeptic Dormouse. Gangrenous Gopher. Zealous Zokor. Horrible Hamster.

I’m more than halfway through Wikipedia’s list of rodents and still no rodents starting with “f!” I’m going to go get some sleep instead. :)

More than half-way to a Trade Treaty with the Bork... assuming that their own numbers are somewhat similar to ours.

Otherwise... same old same old.

The usual builds. Still expanding our Fighter factories, which speeds up Partystarter construction.

Plus some more fire controls.

Quite a few of the components from this ship and others will give additional research points on disassembly.

Engines. Power plants. Fire controls (grav and EM sensor techs). Missile tubes (reload rate tech). Shields, if we get any, for recharge rate tech.
