Then trying being a influencer without the internet.
what do you think the people standing in the street debating society, natural philosophy, and politics were? Or even are, plenty of people influence those around them without ever getting on the internet. They just don't always get paid for it.

While you aren't wrong, that the internet is a requirement for an influencer as we see it today. It seems unlikely that any empire in stellaris that could reasonably said to have such an influencer wouldn't also have some variation of the internet availed by default. at least a planet local internet even if it isn't directly connected to the wider empire.

Then trying being a influencer without the internet.

- Print opinionated pamphlets.

- Handwrite criticisms and nail to church door.

- Talk to a lot of people and eventually get nailed to a cross.

- Troll people with bad copper and keep the complaint tablets in a warehouse.

I think they aren't:
An influencer,[1][2][3] (also known as a social media influencer,[4][5][6] or online influencer,[7][8][9]) is an individual who builds a grassroots online presence through engaging content like photos, videos, and updates, using direct audience interaction to establish authenticity, expertise, and appeal, and standing apart from traditional celebrities by growing their platform through social media rather than pre-existing fame.

Not everyone with influence about another person is a influencer. Otherwise it literally applies to every human, even unborn ones.

I thought it was clear I was using the term as a broad category of people who at least partially support themselves by influencing the beliefs and opinions of people. even if it is just being asked to stay the night at someone's house to keep debating a topic or whatever. Of course, such people didn't fall under the strict modern definition. I apologize if the context wasn't clear. If you have a better word to describe that wide group of people that have existed throughout all of human history I'd like to hear it. Until then I will use whatever term seems most accurate at the time, and try to better explain what I mean.

Also, something I was thinking this afternoon. With how the new economy will work, now being harder to have 1 job planets, would be a good idea to remove from admirals the negative to specialists.

Currently commanders are only good on worker planets and IF there are slaves, if there are no slave, then Officials provide the exact same benefits, without having to waste one Commander there. Their niche as planetary governors (economic wise) is only with slaves and getting some relevant traits. But since it reduces the output of specialists, it has very reduced use. I think that it should be like scientist that boost one specific set (researchers in this case) of jobs without hurting others.

This is more important now as before you could have planets that only had miners/technicians/farmers and perhaps a couple entertainers, not suffering bu said reduction to specialists.

But with the newer system it will be much rarer to have planets with few specialists, making Comissioners even worse (unless said penalty gets removed).
