Too much success can be exhausting (?¡)
bro how many more stacks of enemy ships do I have to screw to get them to add 10% war exhaustion in a war over 2 unhabitable systems and if I lose a cruiser I'm like 25% war lost, this is so broken man, and they just keep coming with more and more ships, I'd just uninstall and go back to CKo_O

Who knows - they might just have researched techs, or unlocked perks that lower war exhaustion.
After all I imagine pacifists being way more war exhausted than militarists.

I guess if you are pacifist, it's difficult for your people to kill someone, and if you're militarist, it's because your people think the enemy is so pathetic it's dishonorable.

You aren't getting accolades for being good at seal clubbing.

I'm trying to figure it out since I didn't play since end of lockdowns, I think I thought I was on a seal clubbing expedition, but the seals were vassals of another robot empire and they're in one of these federations, it would appear I'm at war with half the galaxy over 3 worthless systems because of this federation BS, jesus christ:eek:

Now the war exhaustion thing, I turned Statocracy before the war because of it, I'm also militarist, intel on this robot empire showed they were "equivalent" to me in military power, despite the fact that they pop up fleets with titans like if they had at least 8 times my naval capacity, winning a battle where I took substantial losses but whacked a ton of their battleships and 2 TITANS (the juggernaut got away when it had 1 hit point left as usual lol) only appears to add me a lot of war exhaustion.
I wonder what's gonna happen if the crisis spawns near these guys, as it stands, unless the crisis cheats heavily, they don't stand a chance against this goddamn conglomerate:p

If they are fleeing from the empire, it is save to say they aren't liked there or running the place themselves.

I was talking more about the main species being conquered and purged.

Take your Like, but honestly if they're running for their lives after failing at war then clearly then CAN live with their own failure.

"Despicable Neutrals
What makes a pop group turn neutral... Lust for gold? Power? Or were they just born with hearts full of neutrality?"

(From the 3.99.01 beta. Somehow pops sometimes forget to pick up a Ethic. Making them Despicable Neutrals!)

You got it a tiny bit wrong. That's not a catchphrase Stellaris players use themselves. Instead it's how the rest of the world views Stellaris players.
