I think the most simple sollution would be to add a spiritualist unique policy for AI rights of "tolerate synthetics" which would only apply to synth pops, give them some penalty for being effectively ostracized and dissalow building additional robot pops, but would allow a more peaceful spiritualist approach to synths. At least for cases of xenophile or egalitarian spiritualists who should be a bit more open towards diversity in their society.

Sorry, but that's just dumb. Again, if you don't know how the being was created initially, how can you judge if it does have a "soul"?

By finding out how they were created, obviously.

I'm not saying that it is a very smart line of thinking. But what are the alternatives? Either way we need some axioms: some basis we are building our theories on. Spiritualists and materialists have different basises which leads to different views about what is true.

It is an interesting ground for events. Spiritualist empire is shocked by meeting synthetical pops and starts massive discussions on that matter. Xenophile empire tries to prevent hivemind drones from dying. Materialists can't believe their eyes after witnessing something shroudrelated and try to explain it via science. And so on.

Well, obviously you are not a fanatic spiritualist. Since you are probably leaning more towards materialism, of course you think this position is dumb.
That's kind of the entire point of defining the spiritualist ethos to be opposite of the materialism ethos...

That's not because I'm materialist or w/e. Imagine Stellaris spiritualist who's told that he could probably maybe be a synth. Made with such level of technology that nobody and nothing can possibly identify if it is true or not. Now tell me what should he do?

That's the problem, if you can't tell synths from non-synths how can you claim the former don't have "soul"(conciousness, whatever) while the latter do? Bonus question: why Stellaris spiritualists don't see bio-ascencion path as the same blasphemy? Just because that path replaces less molecules in subjects' bodies than synth path? that's ridiculous.
Well, Stellaris spiritualists can move things with their will, summon demons, reap the most treasured technological secrets of precursors right from their rulers minds, predict future, travel to the higher plane of existence... It looks like to see someones soul is not such a problem for them.

Man, these memes you two have been posting in the meme thread are really bland an boring stuff. It just looks like the two of you are arguing or something. Is this like supposed to be some meta-commentary on the state of the forums lately or something? I don't get it...

Or are you two just being off topic AF?

This is amazing. Should be the tune you hear when you log into Stellaris, or when you pick FP.
