Well, we agreed that he can pick a papal controller, so he's free to foist it on whoever he wants. That said, King Wulfgang wouldn't mind being the papal controller, particularly given that he DID help fund Burgundy's attack on Naples...

Perhaps de Hauteville would choose Wulfgang, if Isabelle was given to one of his sons in marriage...

I'd really like to see the save before commenting anything :)

Download the latest save at http://www.cutestgirlintheworld.com/Thrones.zip

Notes:

1) I returned the Papacy to existance, made William de Hauteville the Papal Controller, and created a "country cousin" de Hauteville to be Pope. I also gave William his prestige and piety bonus for restoring Rome to the Papacy.

2) I created Byak's character as King of Poland. I did this by modding over the king's second son (since he was unmarried), made the king's eldest a bastard so he couldn't inherit, and did the 'f-12/die' thing on the king. Afterwards, I gave Strasz the same piety and prestige score the old King had. For those interrested, that's also how I made Istvan king. His character's name is Strasz. Of course, if there are things he wants to change around, he's free to do so.

Well done! It also solves the problem of possible mongol Piasts as the inheritance won't go to the Bastard of Torki or through him to his kids either.

I will likely wish a change in DNA and possibly a change of name if I find a cooler polish name than Strasz in the name file. :D

EDIT: Desired DNA: "08050506130315"
Desired name: "Mszczuj"

Please re-download the save file (same link above.) Byak's requested cosmetic changes have been made. Unless something else comes up that I don't currently forsee, this will be the save that we'll be playing with next Saturday night.

I have yet to decide Papal Controller, please give me a day or two...

Oh, right. Well, I'll repost a save again after Sterk makes his choice. Also, if anything else comes up (people want to change childrens' names, for example), just say so before Sterk makes his final choice.

Finally, if Jarkko has any questions after he takes a look at the save, I'm sure we'd all be glad to fill him on on what happened last session.

Well, I'd like to know the prestige and age of the new pope before I make a papal controller choice.

It's in the save file, but the pope has a piety and prestige of 0, and is 35 years old.

Also, if Wulfgang wants to be Papal Controller, he must allow Isabelle to marry William.

Wulfgang doesn't want to make that deal.

Well, I gave Besancon to you, even though Berta did not produce a single child for Osmond. In fact, after his death, she remarried within a month. Also, I would be willing to throw in quite a bit of ducats.

True, all. Franconia women tend to be quickly remarried after their husbands die. (Oddly, two of Wulfgang's three married daughters have been widowed at an early age, and either did not bear any sons for their first husbands before they died or saw those sons die at an early age. Hmm...)

I didn't say that Isabelle wouldn't marry William, only that Wulfgang didn't want to make that deal.

Then what deal, pray tell, would you want to make? ;) Also, did you not say that you wanted to be Papal Controller?

I'll take a look at the file at some point and let you know.

I didn't say that Wulfgang WANTED to be Papal Controller, only that he wouldn't mind it. Wulfgang's a skeptic, so he doesn't care too much about the Papacy one way or another so long as it's not used as a weapon against him. The comment came after Byak said that he hoped PC wouldn't be thrust upon someone that didn't want it, and I said that Sterk could do that if he wanted to. I tossed it out there in case you were wanting to had the PC off to someone else and didn't want to force it on someone who didn't want it...

Suggestion: Make the oldest AI ruler papal controller, so that it will go to someone else according to game rules soon after. If you really don't know who should be papal controller that is.

And Pat, PC is very confusing abbrevation for Papal Controller. At least to any long-time RPG:er to whom PC = Player Character, like it should be. :D

The ai Picked William de Hauteville as the Papal Controller when I recreated PAPA. As soon as anyone dies, he's going to become the controller whether he want to or not.

Well if William has some time, he can assasinate people and get caught of it or build some moneylenders. Surely he won't become controller then. :)
