This map looks great... I will be watching this until its finished.

And I really like the city-state idea, but if the map is too big already I think we need a seperate mod focusing only on greece.

Anyways keep up the good work!

Well a map of just Greece without Persia would get boring! ;)

I don't know. With a map of Greece like Descartes's Imperium map, you could create a great Peloponnesian War scenario. :)

Many important battles did not even take place on mainland Greece. ;)

We'll see what we can do when we stretch the map to its limits.

I'm thinking of creating a base test map that is extremely simple, but huge, to see what we can get away with.

I was wondering what the projection on your map was? Your choice of projection may be the solution to your problems. I was just playing around with some of the free data available from Natural Earth and I made a similar map with a Miller Cylindrical Projection at a 15 degree tilt that looks less skewed.

Is this project still alive?
Nothing has been posted for nearly a month, or is it that everyone
involved is busy working on this.

Wish I could mod!

I haven't given up on it, but it's going to be a lot of work.

Hopefully in the next few months I'll have some sort of working prototype available, and can then get down to the business of refining the map and then placing provinces.

In a fit of inspiration I decided to make a topology map for the 3000x2000 map posted earlier. Hope it proves useful :)

Topology data shamelessly borrowed from NASA's Blue Marble page.

There are some things that don't quite align with LG's map, but it shouldn't be too hard to modify slightly to fix that.

Thanks for that! :)

Trust me, this project is still kind of on the back burner, but I haven't given up on it. And every little bit that gets posted here is a worthy contribution.
