This has to be the most hilarious thing I have seen in some time. I created an anti-pope and installed him as Pope. I then make him my court chaplin. Now... my Pope/court chaplin is telling me about this new religion called Catholicism.

This happens a fair bit as the Norse after you reform the Falkirate, usually because your Lord Spiritual, the Seer, is researching Cultural technology.

I'm not sure if it has to do with heads of religion being unable to convert.

Why am I a Duchess and why is everyone hostile to everyone? Weird

(I know, he's still muslim, but he converted from Shia to Ibadi AND became Caliph AND declared a Jihad on me)

(I did not expect him to convert, like, at all)

I think 90k is beyond huge - entering the realm of seeing plaid... aka ludicrous.

Either a design or testing oversight, or a controversial design decision. Can't tell which because those dudes apparently want to restore the Kingdom of Arabia, so perhaps their 90K peasants represent an entire de iure kingdom area. But I think it's silly to make the size of regional rebellions automatically huge because your empire is huge. This game is badly in need of some notion of manpoool.

Yaay. The previous regent was my hateful spymaster who wanted me dead.

What? Why is HE the new regent? It would be easier for me to be HIS regent.

Previous 22-intrigue regent replaced by 0-intrigue, decrepit old man as a result of "court intrigue"? Nonsense

In situations like this it's handy to interpret 'court intrigue' loosely. For instance an example of court intrigue that could have happened is the 22-intrigue character deciding that for whatever reason the regent spot was too hot and so instead he has an idiot installed who can make for an easy fall guy if unpopular decisions are called for but is also still easy to control. Pulling the strings on the the puppermaster as it were.

3 Caliphs.... and none of them are me.

In the Middle East, the Abbasid (Sunni) Caliphate ruled over pretty much everything. Then in 925 Caliph Hussayn (Shia) declared an uprising for Syria. During that struggle, the Hashimids and Tulunids and the Emirs in Jerusalem declared independence from the Abbasids, reducing them to pretty much de jure Mesopotamia. Eventually the Abbasids reconquered Egypt which is why there is a huge independent gap between the sections of the Abbasid Caliphate...

MEANWHILE, in Spain, the Umayyads have given up some territory over the past hundred years to the French and the Castillians, but Hasan the Great had been the Sultan of the powerful kingdom, pretty much converting the entire region of southern Iberia and north western Africa to Ibadi and just recently within the last couple of years, declaring himself to be the Ibadi Caliph.

Well, yes, the event is right. I would say that seeing my spouse, the Empress, making out in public with his lover who is a lowborn eunuch bedouin convert dedicated to celibacy... yes, it's a bit on the humiliating side.

The most hateable part though is that he has the 'Loyal Servant' opinion modifier.

Meet Pope Catone, the real Pope's personal Anti-Pope and court Chaplain in Rome!
That... is odd.

Why not just declare a revolt against the tyranny of a ruler? Picking a fight for a claimant who is in fact heir to an middle-aged ruler seems rather moot.

Amusing is when the AI picks a fights with an entire dynasty.

The war-score is right after the mass "call to arms."
