Don't know if this is weird or not, but Charlemagne definitely didn't accomplish what he originally set out to do.
Seems like Western Europe is having it's fair share of revolts and such.

When you thought you've seen everything... some random indian buddhist took over Arabia. I looked through his dynasty and turns out his grandpa was a king of a small kingdom in western India.
Other than that, he doesn't even have a child.

Indians interacting with other people. Now there's a rare sight.

That's fairly standard for a Charlie start. Maybe 1 in 5 times somebody forms Francia.

Gotcha. Haven't played that many times starting in Charlemagne period so yeah. The only few times I have done that have been playing as King Karl of West Francia, and that's a pretty easy game for the most part.

The Taghlibids own the Sultanate of Sindh at the start. They're Bedouin Sunnis, but I'm sure somewhere along they way they adopted the religion of the populace. Then an adventurer took over. I wish stuff like that happened in my games.

A similiar thing happened to me in the same game where a buddhist took over Abbasids.

And yes, that's Sweden in Frisia and England.
And Karlings rule only in Lotharingia.
Get your shit together, Europe.

To be fair, this game is full of weird stuff. Just look at my soon-to-be neighbor by the
Caspian Sea.

And this is religious map. Look at Serbia and Greece.

That Taghlibid is actually from Kingdom of Sindh in India. He must've turned Buddhist at some point.

And lol, that lunatic rune is absolutely hilarious. :D

Its factual. Rurik the second was the envy of all the raiders with his flying longship no Karling could catch him. You should see the demon child Jewish one. Or maybe just possessed in general not sure I don't play norse alot.

The King of Lotharingia dies and for some reason I check to see if there are claimants in my realm. Then I notice one of them is Holy Roman Emperor. But there isn't (and never has been) any HRE this game.

So, not only a dead guy with a claim, but a very high profile dead guy with a claim.

Remember that buddhist ruler of Arabia?
I just opened religious map and looked at Mecca and Medina.

The Holy Mosque has been refitted into a Buddhist temple. A golden Buddha statue has been placed on the Black Stone.

Looks like this guy is hell-bent on fulfilling Emperor Ashoka's mission.

To those who don't know, Emperor Ashoka, the Indian emperor and the most powerful man in the world in 3rd century BC, was extremely fond of Buddhism and in his later life sent out missionaries and priests all the way to Greece, Persia, Egypt and Arabia (and beyond) in an attempt to convert all of them to Buddhism. He failed to convert the westerners outside of his empire's borders but found an audience in China instead.
