Ok, this one is my fault cause I messed something up while modding, but still: AI Saxony stronk, remove croissant.
Who's croissant then? BTW the thing I messed up was that I made cultural and religious conversions take 10 times longer to preserve minorities longer. I forgot to reduce the frequency of the heresy appearing and heresy spreading events, so every religion with a lot of heresies (especially catholicism) fell to horrible infighting.
At the time of that Khazar portrait, I was the Sultan of Andalusia. I was an Andalusian Umayyad that went Catholic.
I later won the first Crusade in the game, getting Jerusalem, and I vassalized the Knights Templar. (I decided against vassalizing the Knights Hospitaller as well, because you never know when some other Catholic would need them.)
