Crisisman, your going all out arent you?

A war with Yugoslavia seems a bit much to me, especially with France and Britain still strong. But, at the rate you've been going, the conquests seem like pitstops on the way to France.

Also, like Dhatori asked, how is your partisan situation, it must be hell, especially in the Balkans.

Why are you going to attack all future allies?

Very interesting idea of Germany putting far more resources into their Navy than they did historically. Great AI in hunting your Uboats down :)

However you can already see the downside, your Luftwaffe are not supreme, and your ground forces are not hugely strong. If Stalin orders an assault ....

Like this AAR

Hoping this is unusual

As mentioned before, the sinking of such a large part of the Royal Navy seems awful easy. Also, if Germany has spent so much on the Navy, how can its armed forces be up to snuff?

I have nevered understood the plan to for Germany to build Carriers early in the war. The only waters she absolutely needs to control are well within the range of her more powerful land based AF.

I guess with 'Wehrmacht' you mean the german army. That is called 'Heer'. Wehrmacht' comprises Heer, Marine and Luftwaffe. The english equivalent to 'Wehrmacht' would more likely be 'Armed Forces".

Does anyone else think that the utter defeat of the royal navy and the sinking of many capital ships without a single loss on the german side is a bit strange? Also the fact that Poland fell in only 14 days has me a bit worried.
Wehrmacht - 110 Infantry division, 11 Panzer Divisions, 11 Marine Divisions, 11 Mountain Divisions, 13 Army Group HQ, 30 Garrison Divisions. Army Groups consist of 11 divisions and 1 HQ grouped in 4 Corps of 3 Divisions each. One Army Group is deployed on Danish Border, 3 Army Group are deployed in the West, 3 Army Group are deployed in the South and the remainder are deployed against Poland. (72 Divisions allocated to operations in Poland)

Luftwaffe - 2600 Aircraft. 600 Bf.109F fighters, 400 Do.217 naval bombers, 1600 Ju.52/Do.17/He.111 tactical bombers. 400 fighters and all tactical bombers are allocated to Polish operation. Naval bombers are based in Kiel with orders to support North Sea / English Channel operations.

Kriegsmarine - 6 Great War CV with Great War CAGs, 4 Improved BB, 2 Great War BC, 2 Improved CA, 16 assorted CL, 18 assorted DD groups, 30 assorted SS groups, 24 transports. Surface ships are divided into two equal Task Forces, one for North Sea operations and the second for Baltic Operations. SS force divided into two groups of 75 boats. One long range, the other short range. Both are allocated to North Sea operations. All ships based in Kiel with 10 AA, radar and fighters.

His industrial capacity skyrocketed to third in the world due to his early buildup. That isn't too bad, considering he wasted some of that on things like Great War CVs and BCs.

Quite frankly, I don't know. It seems as if people are scared when they read the abbreviation "CV" and the word "Germany" in the same sentence. Do you want a historically accurate portrayal of WWII? If so, then HoI2 is not for you. It is a game, nothing more, nothing less. If you are looking for the Japanese to strike Pearl Harbor at 8 a.m. on December 7, 1941, well, HoI2 is not for you. True, there is a large degree of historical similarities, but every game you play is going to be different.

Thanks for reading this. : )

Nice progress, makes me want to try Germany as well.

I do think it's not quite historically correct to have been able to build all that Crisisman has built, but that's not as important as him obviously enjoying himself while doing it. Gameplay >>>>>> historicity.

Gross: Makes me want to play the UK and take proper revenge. :D

The trick to getting my strength goals was indeed a combination of diplomatic slider manipulation, early IC builds, and building large numbers of the very cheapest units (using gearing bonus) until 1.1.39, then switching to upgrading. That way I got the numbers cheaply and quickly. The down side is many units were still low level when war broke out (Ju-52s, GW CAGs and Inf 36).

Part of the reason I'm enjoying this release of gaming tension so much is that having been a BETA for the past few months has meant I always had to repatch and restart just when things were getting good!

I'm going to finish this one, D****t!

Wonderful AAR so far. Crisisman obviously is a veteran at such things. It is amazing what you have done with Germany so far, and the screenshots are making me drool, especially the last one of your troop disposition. I'm looking forward to your next post!

Nice AAR-but...

Nice AAR, but it looks like Crisisman is playing at an easy level.

After all, it is somewhat mind-boggling for Germany to have type IX submarines and rockets in 1938 as well as to have heavy tanks already in development (and I am not sure about He-111 bombers...). Not to mention having France give up the Maginot line, destroying a large part of the British Navy in 1939 with only minor losses, and getting Hungary and Romania through easy military conquest instead of alliances. And how about Italy's easy victories in Albania and in Ethiopia, where historically Italy got severely bogged down?

Not that I mind - I usually play at the easy levels myself, cause I don't like to lose... :D

EB says that the game will be out here in Quebec on Monday. We will see,,,

Henri
