What a glorious clusterf*ck to start a campaign in. The HRE might be the pinnacale of granularity but this region is just chef's kiss regarding variety. Orthodox vs Chatholic vs even some pagans, powerfull international organisations like the Tatar yoke and HRE on both sides while the Hansatic league is boud to have influence all over the coast. Weak vazzals with huge kingdoms all over the place with a patchwork of vazzalships, alliances and even a war at the start, Holy orders and kingdoms vying for power. It is just great.

Before I go into details:
- should I understand that all Mazovian duchies are Polish vassals?
- duchy of Płock doesn't have a Piast ruler?
- what's the status of Inowrocław?
- does it still begin with an active war between Poland and TO (and Bohemia and Lithuania for some reason)?
- what's the naming convention of Silesian locations? It seems like mess.

@Pavía Hey great post. I can definitely see a lot of feedback provided in the original TM. I do realize a lot of changes in central Poland, and I can't but wonder why did you erased some of the Eastern German historical borders when, in the former map, it was perfectly possible to replicate them, except for the location of Opava.

Original map:

My main concern are the locations of the eastern border of Posen and southern border of Western Prussia. You could replicate those borders in the former map, now it's not possible.

Now. I understand that a lot of Poles get angrily triggered when they see the slightliest mention of German former territories east of the Oder (everytime I highlighted the subject I was bombarded with the 'disagree' reaction by Polish users; I understand it, it's perfectly fine) but locations' shape is immutable during playtime and it's important to achieve the maximum flexibility that this unprecedented granularity can offer, so everyone's happy; and I do know that many Poles wont ever never want to replicate the Eastern German empire's borders, but a LOT of other people will want to do so, and it would be extremely frustrating if the location shapes do not allow it.

It's better to abilitate the shapes for those who desire certain historical borders, than having random shaped blobs in the middle of Poland, it isn't detrimental to the Poland players and it benefits everyone else, I do not see any drawbacks for having there the borders avaliable for those who want them.

For example, the location of Olivença; some Portuguese players will keep it, some Spanish players will conquer it, the rest wont give a fuck. This is the ideal scenario, because it gives to everyone the liberty to shape the map in the way they want.

It's a game, it's intended to everyone's enjoyment, and each person will have their personal preferences in each gameplay, that hopefully will be able to replicate in the game. Having the locations shaped in a way that it's possible to recreate some historical borders there in the game map doesn't mean that tomorrow it will be that way in real life.

Wouldn't it make more sense to call Latvian Latgalian since Latvian identity wasn't really a thing at that point?
You could also argue that the Semigalians were more akin to the Samogitians than to the Latgalians in regards of which group they should be grouped with.

I know that it is fairly minor thing but Łuków location should be within Podlasie province and Mazovia area. At least that's how I feel it should be as someone who lives around there.

edit1: there should be more wetlands in Pommerania region:

That's a lot of lakes !

edit2: I think that Kuyavian culture should be a distinct one in Poland. This is the region from the current royal lineage of Poland comes from. Apart from that everything looks fine to me. (I''d like to see option to unite all these into one united Polish culture later in the game)

edit3: I still think there should be at least small pockets of Pagans all around Slavic lands as some of the rites are still performed today, plus christianity always was more of the syncretic religion there, adopting lots of local customs, as it wasn't adopted via crusades and war.

edit4: I dunno why you included Inowrocław duchy as the lands of kuyavia there were owned directly by Polish crown back then. I made a whole feedback post about this on Tinto Maps #4. Additionally as others already pointed out, Gniewkowo should be somewhat represented as the location.

I spy with my little eye... Duchy of Wrocław should be part of Bohemia, they even have Luxembourg dynasty, assuming you made them PU. The Wrocław lineage died out, so I don't think they should be a PU. Duchy of Koźle to be independent. Siewierz to be part of Bytom Duchy. It became a seperate duchy in 1443. Various Silesian Duchies that came to be later should be a TAG at game start. Żagań shouldn't own Żary, I'm talking about the location shape. Actual Żary city would be in Żagań location.
Silesian language didn't exist at the time, it was Polish, then Germanized. One of the reasons why I don't understand the reason for splitting up Polish cultures. If you want the location names to make sense you can add a dynamic way for Silesian culture to prop up in the XVI century. Or if you want to have the cultures split for game balance, at least make the dynamic locations for Silesian be an event, in the XVI century if Poland doesn't retake it.

To echo the others:
  1. The war should be over by now! Hostilities have ceased! But I'm still hoping maybe there's an event for the peace deal shortly after game start
  2. Sad to see the last independent Kuyavian duchy still not represented (Gniewkowo) while Inowrocław (owned by the Polish king and pending integration in the coming decades) is.

You're missing South Estonian as a culture
View attachment 1182564
North Estonian is closer to Finnish than to South Estonian
This Is how I'd set them up. South Estonian can also be called Tarbatu (the oldest attested name for Tarto, name of a South Estonian dialect used to make a written language), Võro (although this excludes Tarto, Mulgi and Seto) or Tarto. North Estonian could stay as Estonian.

Voro and Seto enclaves in Latvia and Pskov are the result of 17-18 century era movement

It's cool that you guys found this disputed are between the 2 countires that I'm sure not many people know of but could you put the location rapresenting it in the Pskov province since it became a part of it after the Russian conquest.

This is beautiful. The region is now definitely up to standard. Thank you guys. Now, more importantly, the next one is Anatolia! Very excited to see what you are cooking for Anatolia as the most annoying person of that particular Tinto Maps.
