Guys,

Are we going to have an option to get rid of that HUGE BLUE Tweeter bird on the top the screen. I know it displays notifications but can we hide it when there is no new notification?

Its annoyingly blocking the view.

Cheers

Yes, you're right, I wasn't seeing bullying at all. But I did appreciate that someone had their eye on the situation, and if people can remain aware of when it starts, and care enough to speak up, then real bullying can be kept to the minimum.

Hear, hear.

The Internet can make it doubly different, there's no tone of voice or expression on your face when you post a comment or reply. If your not careful what was meant as a jokey comment amongst friends can read unnecessarily harsh or mocking when it wasn't meant to be. And of course this can be magnified because the person reading it may not be a native English speaker and may not "get" what is being said in the same way as others.

OK about above stats , first they are not community stats. The data is entirely based on replies in this thread. I might have went wrong slightly here and there but this is an approximate estimation. Only 20% people really want this bird to stay. Rest of people want it to be removed or to be moved or to have an option to hide etc

So basically its 8:2 ratio and CO we don't wanna break hearts (20%) therefore a simple option to hide it when its inactive would be great .

i don't know how you collected the data and how you came up with the 8:2 ratio.

For the sake of argument, let's just take this thread as an indicator of opinion ... even though I'm sure, that the majority doesn't care about the bird. If majority cared about the bird, this thread would have 45 pages of posts by now and there would be many other threads talking about the sooo important issue of the bird.

But, for the sake of argument, let's just take this thread as a holy grail of player opinion (even though it cannot be):

I read the whole thread again and assigned comments into 4 brackets.

*Those, that like the tweeter bird: 9 people
*Those that want the tweeter bird to be moved somewhere else on the screen and/or be smaller: 11 people
*Those that want the tweeter bird to disappear when necessary OR completely removed: 9 people
....
*The rest (not expressing any opinion, or expressing it many times (so I only one "vote" from an individual)... not counted obivously.

So you see, that the opinions of people that want tweeter bird removed are only approximately 1/3 ... and it's your thread. And even if you count the people that want it moved away from the center, but want it in the game, you still end up with approximately a ratio of 2:1 (or 2/3 of all opinions)... that's twice a smaller ratio than (8:2) that you made.

But again, for future reference, do not reference my findings because they're only done from opinions in this thread and do not in any way reflect the opinion of all the people on the forum. And i speculate that most don't give enough damn about the bird, enough to express it on the forum anyway :)

You can put me in the Move category as well if you want

Wow, I never imagined the Chirper-bird would be such a hot topic. I love it :D

However, the person who's opinion matters with Chirper-bird: 1

That person is me. As a CEO of a game company I have very little input on the design of a game as I mainly try to allow the creative team to make good decisions without interference. Once in a meeting we discussed a newspaper or similar feature to give the player feedback from the citizens. I got the idea of making a twitter-like feature to having quick feedback in a familiar and funny way. After that I have had to defend the poor Chirper in multiple occasions and I will continue to do so.

The Chirper stays.

I think chirper bird should be the mascot for the whole game - the box art of the game should just be a big picture of chirper bird - and you can release a special edition of the game called Chirper Bird Edition - that comes with a chirper bird stuffed toy.

Yes, birds are cute. I love the Angry Birds and this can be just as cool as them.

Or how about a commercial office building that is chirper-bird company's head office - it could have a giant chirper-bird sitting on the top of the office building .. that would be cool.

I really like the chirper bird - it's basically an update of the old SimCity news feed bar thing, but with a more personal touch. The placement of it seems fine to me too.

I don't think you understood the collective feedback on the chirper in this thread. People that want to remove chirper are in a minority. Most people want it to move from the top-centre to a corner. But it would be really sad if it got removed. Please don't even consider removing it, but do consider moving it to a corner perhaps? OR make it draggable so that people can position the bird wherever they please :D

Can we change the appearance

Hard to know how to respond... I didn't mind the bird, originally; I was only concerned about annoying and repetitive information it might provide, and what mechanisms there might be to control those.

...

I'll respond like this:

Wow, I never imagined that I would read a 'DEAL WITH IT' response from another company. I do not love it

However, at least I now know the value of my opinion: 0

I could live with that. The bird by itself is fine, the problem is that it doesn't match the style of anything else in the game (why the crown?), and it's kinda front-and-center at the moment.
