Hello everyone...
I have not played a city builder since Sim City 4, because I felt all the new city builders were not to my expectations. This one looks good enough, but this bird is a little weird. Maybe I just hate hashtags, or maybe I just hate my stupid citizens. Something just makes me angry... an example tweet...
"Hooray for the mayor! More #Greenenergy for the city!"
GASDHGI Just shut up! Why would anyone want to read your stupid tweet!! Seriously, what kind of person actually tweets crap like that. If I had a Tweeter, would any of my followers actually want to read that?? and if I was mayor, I would just delete the damn thing! Send me a letter or something! My secretary will run it into the shredder thanks for your time!
All the tweets just are all happy and jokes, where are the hateful tweets at the mayor?
"**** you Mayor Gunnarr #tard #idiotbuildingcoalplant"
"WTF is this stupid noise machine outside my house? #ThanksObama"
"@Mayor Not voting 4 u nxt time, u wingnut #rekt"
Seriously this tweeter thing makes me angry, and playing with it will make me angrier. Sure, keep it, but just please give me an option to remove it.... please...
My concern seeing that bird is that we're going to end up with some teenage girl utopia, where everything is happy and fun and we can save the environment and that everyone can be happy.
I really yearn for a city builder that takes the gritty topics seriously. I want to see a 'The Wire'-like representation of crime. Not the kind of panto that SimCity and every other city builder has thrown at us.
I want it to be a hard decision to create an environmental utopia, one that will cripple your citizens finances - not just an endgame for creating a wealthy city.
Probably reading too much from one bird but I saw it and I thought CHILDISH. There is enough childish city builders - it's time for a better representation of reality.
I agree, thing I like about Sim City 4 was the city was grim sometimes. The low wealth industries were dirty looking, the low wealth commercial looked run down, and the low wealth residents were literally trailer hicks. Shootings and riots happened. This game looks more colorful, spotless in everything. It just seems like a toy set rather than a city for me.
I also agree about the enviroment thing. What is with the game developers always pushing green energy to be the best solution almost every time? It does not represent reality at all, it just makes me not want to play.
Here is a graph of United States energy sources:
From this game, it would be more like renewables is taking up a majority of the space. Fact is, in 2015, Fossil Fuels are the dominant source of energy, and the most economical source of energy. The game should reflect that, not force green as the best option. I am so tired of it
Here is france:
Now, look at Sweden, where you can see a higher percent in renewables:
I am just going to make a thread about it
