Guys,

Are we going to have an option to get rid of that HUGE BLUE Tweeter bird on the top the screen. I know it displays notifications but can we hide it when there is no new notification?

Its annoyingly blocking the view.

Cheers

I can't believe that there are now 11 pages of comments on this when none of you have actually played the game. Wait a month; play the game and see how the bird helps or hinders. It's not going to be changed at this point of development.
You need only to watch sips gameplay video to realize it would be nice for a simple UI option, which is no different than what is already implemented into the game in regards to key binding that give you total freedom.

so this thread exists to exaggerate the size of the small bird icon? that is what i thought in the first place.

I do not believe it is the size of the bird, it is the size and place of the text boxes and possibly an option to limit these text boxes

but hey that's my opinion-- id rather them work on an option to limit messages before they make a movable bird, or make a small ticker at the top over the bird.
You seem hellbent on churning out posts replying to new forumers in this disscussion, which content, although, look like are all in reference to post number 1 in this thread. Do you even notice we are not the same guy as OP? The disscussion has evolved.

did you notice i was not replying to a quote of yours when you wrote your second post in a row?
did you notice i was replying to someone who says it was the size of the bird that was the problem
did you even talk about any point i made in my quote? or anypoint that the guy i was talking to made in his quote?

you seem hellbent on replying to anything i say, even if you have no point in your reply.

and yes i know Inge Jones is not OP, i just think he had a funny bird encounter, which were most of my posts

heh, you also made 2 posts in a row on the previous page.
Yeah I noticed that you were replying some other guy. It happens I was commenting on your general behavior. Some guy says "yeah, i feel the bird is obstructing my view, Id like the option for it not to do so". Then you come and say its not the size bla bla. Gosh, we agree on that, but it really looks like you are trying to impose your opinion on others.

You agree that it would be nice if the text box wasnt like it is now and the devs could change it for the better. The thing is that be it the way you want (bar above), be it the way I want (move), it doesn't matter at all as both those solutions require the same amout of resources accomplish the same thing. What I dont get it is why you argue against the move option

Have i argued against a move option? I simply said it would be better if they limit the birds messages and think it would be more important then moving it. And yes i would rather have a bar above. I know your way is the most important way But it feels as if you are imposing your opinion on me acting as if moving it solves all problems, an opinion that has been around since page 1. I guess the conversation has evolved as you have stated you are in favor of moving the bird as if this a new idea.

I'll make a comment on your general behavior, for the most part you are simply replying to me for the sake of replying to me, your reply rarely contain anything other then 'stop forcing your opinion on people' and 'my opinion is the right one '.

i say yeah the birds not big you come and say waaah blah blah blah the birds big move it, i see no difference your forcing your opinion me, an opinion people were talking about since page 1.

I wouldn't stress too much guys. There may indeed be a way to throttle/cap/control the degree of information that gets 'chirped.' My preference, if I may be allowed to state it and leave here intact, would be to move the options 'gear symbol' on the top right elsewhere and shove the thing there, but that's just my idea.

But here's the thing: the current bird implementation is a turkey, and Christmas is coming. Even if it was the CEO's idea, and therefore given the front and centre treatment, there's no way it's going to survive this thread. Chill.

sorry i was side tracked another page does not include a cat

hah, I just went back to the first pages and read your posts.

i won't mimmick you ill just put you on ignore. Your whole point seems to be to get attention from me, im the only one you talk to in this thread and attempt to insult.
good bye i will miss your useless commentary how your opinion is the correct one and other people are forcing theirs if they state it.

does the ignore function work? what does it do? block PMs?

I wasn't going to go on, but man, I went back again in the pages and its blatant to anyone with a sane healthy thinking grey matter that you are the troll one, spewing falacies. I just dont get it because its pretty easy to group our messages in this thread together and judge it. Seriously, its surreal.

Hackner, ignore "Leermeister" completely , he is immature and needs to grow-up (a lot) - (he is probably 7 or 8 year old kid, which is ok), halt all your responses to him as he is just trolling around.

he's counter trolling, darling, you're the one that made this thread in a pile of rubbish once you started trolling with 8:2 ratio, and i was stupid enough to take you seriously and it took me time to do it, without realising that i'm feeding the troll.

Ok i retract my numbers (than what?) you cant change the fact dude. There are mixed feelings about the bird in which majority want to MOVE it and my ratio included those people as well.

Anyways i am sorry if i offended you with my ratio.

After that I have had to defend the poor Chirper in multiple occasions and I will continue to do so.

The Chirper stays.
This is my biggest issue with CO. I get you make decisions, but if they prove to be unpopular you really need to consider changing them or making them optional, rather than the stubborn "this is our game, not changing it!" approach you took with CIM2 and now this game.

If you want the community to support you, you need to start supporting the community better.

Nooooo, don't put the bird in a corner!

Sorry if my previous statement sounded too harsh. It was written with a tongue in the cheek which I probably should avoid in the future ;)

If the Chirper doesn't grow on you after playing the game, let's discuss about this again. Just give the poor guy a chance.

He did also said this afterwards. ;)

Hello everyone...

I have not played a city builder since Sim City 4, because I felt all the new city builders were not to my expectations. This one looks good enough, but this bird is a little weird. Maybe I just hate hashtags, or maybe I just hate my stupid citizens. Something just makes me angry... an example tweet...

"Hooray for the mayor! More #Greenenergy for the city!"

GASDHGI Just shut up! Why would anyone want to read your stupid tweet!! Seriously, what kind of person actually tweets crap like that. If I had a Tweeter, would any of my followers actually want to read that?? and if I was mayor, I would just delete the damn thing! Send me a letter or something! My secretary will run it into the shredder thanks for your time!

All the tweets just are all happy and jokes, where are the hateful tweets at the mayor?

"**** you Mayor Gunnarr #tard #idiotbuildingcoalplant"

"WTF is this stupid noise machine outside my house? #ThanksObama"

"@Mayor Not voting 4 u nxt time, u wingnut #rekt"

Seriously this tweeter thing makes me angry, and playing with it will make me angrier. Sure, keep it, but just please give me an option to remove it.... please...

My concern seeing that bird is that we're going to end up with some teenage girl utopia, where everything is happy and fun and we can save the environment and that everyone can be happy.

I really yearn for a city builder that takes the gritty topics seriously. I want to see a 'The Wire'-like representation of crime. Not the kind of panto that SimCity and every other city builder has thrown at us.

I want it to be a hard decision to create an environmental utopia, one that will cripple your citizens finances - not just an endgame for creating a wealthy city.

Probably reading too much from one bird but I saw it and I thought CHILDISH. There is enough childish city builders - it's time for a better representation of reality.

I agree, thing I like about Sim City 4 was the city was grim sometimes. The low wealth industries were dirty looking, the low wealth commercial looked run down, and the low wealth residents were literally trailer hicks. Shootings and riots happened. This game looks more colorful, spotless in everything. It just seems like a toy set rather than a city for me.

I also agree about the enviroment thing. What is with the game developers always pushing green energy to be the best solution almost every time? It does not represent reality at all, it just makes me not want to play.

Here is a graph of United States energy sources:

From this game, it would be more like renewables is taking up a majority of the space. Fact is, in 2015, Fossil Fuels are the dominant source of energy, and the most economical source of energy. The game should reflect that, not force green as the best option. I am so tired of it

Here is france:

Now, look at Sweden, where you can see a higher percent in renewables:

I am just going to make a thread about it
